People are forgetting there are only so many colors to use anyways. The UK, Australia, France, US, Cambodia, Nepal, Malaysia... so many use red, white, and blue beyond just pan-Slavic nations (many of whom like Bulgaria do not use these combos). 3 primary colors. 3 secondary. And then 2 shades, white and black. Not a single nation's flag uses brown or grey as a main color. Tertiary and intermediate colors are also basically never used. It's called there's only 3 primary colors, 3 secondaries, and none of the tertiary colors are used in any flag. That + 2 shades (white and black) mean most flags share the same colors. It's amazing how people don't understand this. Brown, grey, pink, and purple are not used as main colors for any single flag. Orange is on only like 10 national flags, that's it. So now you're down to how many colors to use? Usually blue means sky or water, depending on if it's a coastal nation or one with a lot of important rivers. Red means blood almost every time. Green means land. Over and over, regardless of national history. Ukraine is a relatively unique looking flag because it uses yellow for a similar reason to nations, except the yellow represents wheat and not just land or crops generically. And they have blue over it specifically to denote the sky over said wheat. A lot of countries have blue to mean sky but it's not the 1st color. Ecuador says their yellow is for their rich land and crops but their blue is for the oceans and sky, despite the yellow being above the blue. At least Colombia and Venezuela add some attempt to make this make sense by saying the yellow also stands for the sun.
