no one is stopping other races, languages, or religions from forming clans. Many of them already do exist

these clans were not created by the government btw... Some of these clans started way before singapore gained independence, started by the first batch of chinese migrants to create a form of support group for the migrants coming in from china. Especially during the british colonial times where the support system from them didnt help those migrants. The question is for you to bring to your grandparents and their grandparents as to why they never start doing something like that.
