Learn the violin first, then learning the viola will be a piece of cake (it’s just a larger deeper version of a violin) After that with more in depth practice you’ll be able to learn the cello. I know I make it sound easy I’m someone that’s been playing the violin for 15 years two years later I learned the viola and then about a year later I started learning how to play the cello. It is by no means easy as they’re some of the instruments to play but practice makes perfect and don’t give up!😊

You don't realize how much of a piece of art a real, well made violin is. Many good violin makers will go through hundreds of pieces because they got something even a fraction of a millimeter off, even the specific design of the instrument that had evolved to that specific shape, and types of wood to project the sound. It's the reason acoustic violins could land tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars for a single instrument. This even includes the bow (though electric violins usually still use the same bows I believe).

Why are there 5 strings LoL?
@ElectricViolinShop
@ElectricViolinShop Жыл бұрын
The real question is why modern violins only have 4 strings. If you go back a few hundred years, 6 and 7 string instruments were common. They evolved back to 4 because the instruments had to get louder as concert halls got bigger. But electricity has allowed us to go back to 5, 6, and 7 string instruments.

Wait violins have 4 strings right? And violas have 5 right? So why you calling that viola a violin. No hate just wondering
@ElectricViolinShop
@ElectricViolinShop Жыл бұрын
Nope. Traditionally, both violins and violas have four strings. Of course, if you go back even further in history, bowed string instruments had MORE than 4 strings. They had to shrink the range to make them louder as concert halls grew larger in the 1700-1800s. We've got electricity now, so with amplification, we can go BACK to what used to be normal - 5, 6, and 7 string instruments. The main difference between a violin and a viola is that the viola is tuned a fifth lower and has a larger body.

Why’s there 5 strings, isn’t there only 4😂
@MusicalBotany
@MusicalBotany Жыл бұрын
Because a fifth string extends the range of the violin. It's tuned a fifth lower than the previous string, so it's pitched to C. It makes the instrument just a bit more versatile. There are a good number of modern composers writing for 5-string violins; also, some baroque stringed instruments had 5 strings, too. :)
