I have a collection of diecast models . Why do I collect them ? Because I like them and it takes me back to earlier days . All the best to you

Thank you for showing us around your varied collection. I can only collect stuff that I know I'll like forever. The most I have of the same vehicle is 4 Corgi Vanguards Ford Escort MK1 Mexicos, in 4 different colours. This is my favourite car. I had the chance to buy a real one in 1983, but couldn't afford the insurance, gutted. I still have pictures I took of it! I am a person who struggles with the process of spending money. Anything I'm looking to purchase, I have to research for ages. I have been purchasing 1:43 scale diecast cars since 2013, I have a tall display cabinet that is now full. I'm now lucky to have a hobby room with 17 shelves. I've started buying new toy vehicles, HotWheels, Matchbox and Majorette. I have a HotWheels Porsche 911 Carrera in white. There now is a yellow one out, which I was going to buy. But I don't need it! I don't know why I suddenly started buying small 1:64 scale cars again, not bought any since being a kid, I'm now 61. Oh, then there's all the Lego.........

Collecting can be fun, but it's easy to get carried away. Well, it is for me, if I'm not careful. I also collect the new Hot Wheels and Matchbox, but only the ones I really like. Interesting about the Escort Mexico, I bet the insurance was very high on such a quick car. I wanted to get a V8 Land Rover as my first car, but, unsurprisingly, I couldn't afford the insurance either. I had a Mk2 Ford Escort estate as my first car instead. I think the trouble I have with buying models for my collection online is that it's just so easy. I used to go to toyfairs years ago, but with ebay and amazon, you can find just about any diecast model now. I think I'm slightly addicted to ebay, which isn't ideal. I've had some of the recent Lego sets too... Thanks for watching 👍

Hi very good show and deep , me i collect for many reasons 1 i collect bank notes i love visting other places but cant afford to but buying notes on ebay and then looking up info on them and learn a little about where they came from , 2 police car is 3 reasons love police shows as a kid and being poor use old lego blocks to make poeple out of small 4 dots bricks and cars out of 8 dot bricks very basic had to use my mind now i can afford real models to look at but in total reminds me of when a kid good times the wonder at that age

Hey Rob, it is a struggle I have a similar problem If I find something I like and there's a few to make a set I will hunt them down until I have them. It's a big subject to discuss and an interesting one. Thanks for sharing your collection , all the best Martin

I love the underground train bookend and your other underground trains . Regarding giving to Charity if you buy items from charity shops you give to that charity

Ppl like me as well love material things to own,and that's the main word,to OWN things .I think your collection is great ,obviously you buy dog statues because you have a dog ,so do I .thank you for sharing your collection and your thoughts

Thanks for watching. I do enjoy collecting things and you're right, owning them is the main appeal. I have many things in my collection that I will keep and I have no intention of ever selling, but some things I lose interest in after a while and those things I usually move on at that point. I think it's okay to be a collector, but I don't want to become a hoarder. But it's not always easy.
