Jim Gaffigan is an American stand-up comedian, actor, writer and producer. He presently has 5 stand up specials on Netflix and 2 on Amazon Prime Video. He wrote 2 New York Times Best Sellers DAD IS FAT and FOOD: A Love Story He co-created and starred in a tv series based on his life called The Jim Gaffigan Show. He has appeared in numerous TV shows and films in both comedic and dramatic roles.

I am the youngest of 5 siblings. I am 63 years old. When we were growing up, it was common to have large families. We are blessed....all 5 of us still going strong.

I’m one of five as well, but we were considered a small family! Both of my aunts had seven. One summer my gramma was sick and my aunt went to nurse her, leaving her kids with us. And then my other aunt got sick and her kids came to us as well! 19 kids under ten years old! Three babies in diapers! All summer! Lol! Best summer ever. I couldn’t understand why my mom was stressed. Lol!

Mine were 2 yrs apart to the day, still alot to handle but I loved it. And to that comment that came often, from every person who thought they were Captain Original, my retort was always the same, "Yep! Sure better than empty!" And I meant it, every time. 💜💖😊😊

I love this family and am so glad I found this channel. His videos have made me laugh during these grim days. His children are so articulate and well behaved. His wife is also funny. I love the house where they are staying this summer. He is so nice to invite all of us to dinner every night with his family!

My grandma had 13 children and when people would comment on her family size she would say "... well if your husband was as much fun as mine" lol I miss her, she was an amazing strong woman and believed in being open to life. When she passed she had over 40 grandchildren and many great grandchildren who all respected and loved her, she and my grandfather built a legacy through family. I wish society would respect the choice to have a big family more, it's a wonderful thing when done with love.

Jim Gaffigan is an absolute American treasure. We love him. The jokes in this one about the plethora of children are especially endearing to me. It’s true that nowadays five kids smells like Duggar to a lot of people because our post modern society is so 1984. But in REALITY, children are a heritage of the LORD. They are an absolute blessing, and frankly, one of the best things about the entire human experience. They are the natural product of a normal, monogamous, man and wife. It’s that simple. It’s weird that the common groupthink today is that children should be avoided. It’s really sad. So many sex worshippers literally have only that to look forward to. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD, and enjoy a lifetime with our children and grandchildren.

I solved the sugar dilemma by using date puree for everything. Nature's sweetener packed with antioxidants and fiber. Fruit is actually something we NEED. 👍
