Hi Chrissie I suffer with POCD and have also suffered with HOCD in the past. What I get stuck on is when you say in the video Pedophiles desire the thoughts. I start worrying maybe I desire the thoughts. Because when I have a sexual thought about a young girl my brain then tells me I would like doing it and that makes me feel really anxious and guilty etc. And when I say the part about my brain tells me I would like it. I dont mean I want to do it cause that actually makes me feel bad. I mean when I have that thought and picture it I sometimes think it makes me aroused. If that makes sense. Then I think I must be a pedophile. Thank you

That's OCD. it's your head telling you this things but you have to accept that its there and it has no meaning or truth behind It. Pedophiles don't feel guilt or shame (No reassure)

Same happens to me only when my anxiety is on the roof !! I also have thoughts that i do not love my family , my husband , and that im going to laugh of something bad happen to them and that makes me feel really bad i cry and i try to convince my brain that those thoughts are not real , that i really love them , ocd is like having a bad person inside your head bullyng you all the time.

@Maria Shapiro I live in the UK and I'm unaware of any European countries "attempting to legalise pedophilia". Which countries?

@Maria Shapiro your comment is really awful - you're comparing homosexuality to pedophilia, zoophilia and necrophilia. Wow.

@Maria Shapiro Really? So convicted pedophiles aren't criminals then or shouldn't be treated as criminals?

I find it so inspiring that you are so open and chill about this disease, and it's so calming to know others suffer with this disease as well. I have been suffering for over a year now with sexually intrusive thoughts, specifically one in particular that I consider to be the "most fucked up" (cause I feed into it the most) and it just takes so much happiness out of me, and the saddest thing is that no one can see you're struggling. However the hardest thing is that with anxiety is that it's so hard to reach for help; because you're constantly worried about others opinions and the effects- so when reaching for help involves all of that, it's not exactly done fastly. I aspire to get help and be like you one day, thank you!!

I've had these for over 15 years. So stressful :( . And it isn't something you can talk about in confidence with the average person. And I have thoughts that I've done bad things to people like murder an rape and I can't get rid of the guilt an aniexty

You are an Angle Chrissie. Words cannot tell you how comforting your message is to my beleaguered soul. I have suffered with tormenting thoughts for many years, without much hope of recovery. Now I see a little glimmer of hope by listening to knowledgeable people like yourself that also have suffered with this horrendous brain malfunction. It is easy to realize when you have a stomach ache, that it’s probably because of something you ate that is not agreeing with you. But it is another thing to know how to stop the pain inside your conscious mind when you can’t stop feeding it with terrible thoughts. Whereas the stomach ache is just matter of changing your diet to something more agreeable. I will stop rambling and say thank you for your KZfaq channel. -Dave

I didn’t realize that no matter me fighting it and it coming and going, it was coming and going bc i was fighting it. The second it left it was something different, but the second that one left it was back. It’s a cycle. But it doesn’t even feel like it is

X.BrookeNoel.X I am going through pretty much that as well right now but it's just thoughts of pedophilia and it makes me anxious and scared no matter how much I fight it I know I don't want to think them it's obvious because of how I'm feeling but I can't control it to make it stop

My opinion it’s thoughts that OCD people are aware of and realize wow I think of awful things while the other people just don’t care.

Hey there...your videos have helped me a lot. Thank you so much. I have my intrusive thoughts due to a sexual dream. I started thinking that it must mean that I'm attracted to that person (who I CANNOT be attracted to because they are a family member) and my life has been pure hell since then. So I was wondering if having dreams about it is a problem or it's also part of the OCD. Thank you again

It isnt' uncommon at ALL to have OCD interfering in the dreams. I cannot tell you how many times I'll have dreams of a sexual nature and wake up with anxiety because of it. It's one more way OCD wants to keep us stuck!

Hey, thank you for sharing your story. I can't help a lot right now, but I've been going through the same for some months. I also get weird thoughts about family members and I'm scared of avoiding them due to my situations. And touching things a million times is my 'favourite ritual' I highly recommend you visiting ocdaction.org.uk/forum and write a post. Please keep in mind that you're not alone.

you clearly have ocd and you have to learn that thoughts are irrational and if you try to make them disappear your mind malfunctions and reminds you of them even more. This is a biological process and we can't do anything to stop it, just acknowledging those thoughts as normal and gradually forget about them. It takes time but when there's life there's hope! You're welcome!

Pochemuchka ... are you feeling better? I'm a female and I'm going through sexual ocd... it started in December 2017 due to a disturbing documentary that I watch. I did get a little better, but the ocd just came back full force.
