I love living alone in Tokyo, it's truly the best 😇
This is like...part vlog...part....something else 🤔Don't think about it too much!!!!!
I really love living alone here, I feel like Tokyo, and Japan in general really, is much more suited to it than America. Everything is small and made for one person basically lol. On the other hand, large families are gonna have a hard time here 😅
❤️ Please like the video, comment, and subscribe for more content about my life here in Japan in the future!! It helps me out tremendously 🥺💕

Hi guys!! So I'm in the process of migrating editing software, and am currently testing out Premiere and Finalcut to pick which I like better. Needless to say, my editing isn't going to be what it usually is so sorry about that...I really underestimated how much more time consuming it would be to edit the video in a software I've never used before 🙃 Also didn't plan on forgetting my entire wallet at home during this video, throwing off what I wanted to do initially...😬 Oh well!! I'm pretty busy at the moment but hopefully next week's video will somehow take shape 😇

I love your editing style! Please take as long as you need to get comfortable with the new software because your videos are GREAT and are something I look forward to watching every week! Thank you for making them!

What editing software do you use now? I was thinking of starting with DaVinci Resolve, as it's super free... Premiere, and FCP, are well known, but I'm weary about expensive software. Thoughts? Love your chill videos. Surprisingly strong singing voice there! haha

Tokyo is so much fun! I love eating alone as well 🙂 There are just too many good restaurants to check out that I wouldn't get to visit if I had to convince a friend to come. After seeing Aggretsuko, I might try out going to karaoke alone as well 🤘

It's definitely borderline impossible to live alone in the US, sometimes it's hard to believe that it isn't like that in other countries. Thanks for sharing your day! You always make Tokyo look super fun and chill.

8:58 I have a bag of Calbee "Hot & Spicy" potato chips in my kitchen cabinet. And they're really good. You can get these chips in the USA at specialty stores. There's an Asian grocery store in Biloxi that sells them. (I also have Yopokki rice cakes, purchased from the same place)

Fascinating. You do a terrific job on this channel, I've much enjoyed binge watching your back catalogue of videos. I agree with the sentiments and observations shared in this video 100%. It's a wonderful city to explore and live in if you enjoy solitude and exploring on your own. There's no reason to feel self-conscious about eating out alone and things like that either. 😊💯💯

Great video! I loved it because you showed that living alone and being single is actually fun and doesn’t mean necessarily that you’re lonely. I’m single myself living alone in Germany and I enjoy it a lot. And although it’s very common for a woman to live here alone it’s still not that developed compared to Japan, like eating alone in a restaurant. That’s actually one thing I avoid doing here because of the stares you might get. So I completely agree with you that Japan is great for single people. Also for traveling alone, it’s amazing. It’s safe, it’s affordable, it’s fun and you won’t get any stares. I hope I can do that again soon.

maan I miss living alone in Tokyo, I agree the city very much aims at single people. Although once they did refuse to sit me down in a restaurant after I said I am alone 😅. I wish karaokes where I am had openings for Eva on their list haha (well there would have to be SOME karaoke places at first lol)

I love how you advocate for living alone and basically not being afraid to admit that you like being alone. Also, where did you go to Karaoke?? I lived in Japan for 6 months and I was too afraid to go alone. I could not find one with single rooms so I would always go with friends but there were times when I just wanted to go alone.

almost any of them will be okay if you’re alone!! they may turn you away if you go on like a weekend night, but I’ve only been to one place that said no solo people. on weekdays I would say the majority of people are actually there alone!

I really loved the facts you added in; they were very interesting 😮 Those FL rental prices are right on par with NJ’s, it’s crazyyy. (Also random US update-our housing market is a bit insane nowadays too! Very rough, even for families with two incomes) As long as the roach doesn’t run too fast I’m okay😂 but does Tokyo (or Japan in general) have any crazy spiders/insects?!🙊😬
@AllisoninTokyo
@AllisoninTokyo 2 жыл бұрын
Really depends on the place in florida but even my suburban hometown is a bit crazy 🥲 I’ve only seen 2 roaches and a maybe one or two little spiders a month in my Tokyo place , so not bad!! In the countryside there are poisonous centipedes which a few of my friends have woken up to next to their pillows 🥲 thankfully I never did

There's definitely a spcial stigma about eating alone but I've been doing it since i was 18 & I'm almost 32 now! 😂 I've always been a loner & I've moved around soooooo many times & no matter where I go and what I do I'm usually alone ♡ i love doing whatever I want and taking my time wherever I am or just.... whatever! Lol. Also Japan seems sooooo cheap I knew it wasn't as expensive as ppl say it is.

But Alison if alone means …no kids or low births means very very large old people aging pop. and this is a whole diff issue for economic growth. Look I am not here to preach. I never wanted to have kids. If it wasn’t for my husbands frantic urge to have kids, seriously!!! I know… I have in and had our twin girls. Fast forward 12 yrs I can’t imagine them not being in my life. But most young people want their careers like me.. what’s wrong with that? Kids didn’t seem like something that was necessary to me. But the repercussions in China, even India or Africa are beginning to worry economist, Europe has been in decline for years and Canada has to allow immigrants just to keep the influx of population from decline. That’s a whole different issue.

Pre-covid I went out to eat on my own with no issues. Why do people care ? I don't give people who eat alone crap or think poorly of them either. I've seen others do this as well. Perhaps it's Florida or you have social anxiety.
