of course they will serve it to you😂😂😂 why wouldn't they? People never understand that typical Italian food "rules" does not mean you cannot order it. There are even places that started making Fettucine Alfredo to accomodate American tourists. They will always adapt.

It's called business They know their tourists' needs and wishes, so they serve to make more money. That's simple :)

In truth, you can order a cappuccino at any time of day. Italians won't do it, or very rarely, because we drink something else in the afternoon. But you can definitely have it as a snack around 4pm with a slice of cake or by itself without anybody thinking twice about it. What horrifies the waiter is having a cappuccino *with* a meal, because milk is considered more of a food than a beverage and so it's like you are ordering extra food, which doesn't combine with the meal itself at all. There is usually much attention to which beverage goes well with which food, so sipping a cappuccino with a seafood pasta is going to cause a lot of raised brows, and some suggestions like: "wouldn't a glass of white be more appropriate..?" But it's really just the reaction of someone who thinks what it would taste like to their palate and have a bit of nausea at the very idea. I know I would have to look away, because the combination would make me retch. But I mean, I bet a lot of food we eat and other cultures eat would make americans go "ew", even if it is perfectly safe and healthy. Like a lot of types of meat, which I know are alien to American culture.

@emmel4fun I don't think they think about it too much. Like in movies, as a kid, I always assumed the milkshake was some sort of dessert that came after the savory dish (though I wouldn't be able to dunk that much after eating cheeseburger and fries). I would quite simply not order it. I can't even finish a whole burger and fries American-portion. A milkshake for me is a meal of itself. 😆 But yeah, I wouldn't be able to sip a milkshake whilst chomping on a burger. I don't like that mix of flavours.

😉👍 That would be the answer everyone here should give. No one can “dictate” to other people when they should drink a certain thing. People are adult enough to decide for themselves what to eat and what to drink and at what time to drink a certain thing.

@@dinas2369 strage, basically every hotel has it for breakfast.maybe not in the hot dog form, but the hot dog sausage itself you have for breakfast with mayo and/or ketchup and/or mustard. It is part of the continental breakfast all over Europe. Only the bun id what is not eaten over here as such. We eat the sausages with bread rather.

I'm from Romania, and yes, we do eat hot dogs for breakfast.

Many years ago my Italian college professor said in Italy cappuccino at any meal but breakfast was incorrect. So cappuccino for breakfast with a cornetto is a good choice. Cappuccino after a lunch of spaghetti alla carbonara, nooo! But if you want a cappuccino because you’re in the mood as a stand alone treat, it’s fine. But I learned this in the 1990’s. I don’t know if customs have changed.

@@1014Donna I am an Italian tour guide, and my customers often ask me about that. Drinking cappuccino has no schedules, it's fine in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening. What your professor said is fair enough: drinking cappuccino with a croissant, a brioche, a cornetto or a dessert is right, but drinking it WITH spaghetti carbonara or Caesar salad, no.

obviously everyone can do what they want🙈 that's a given. People want to know why most Italians don't have cappucino after 12 and she explains it.

@@surlespasdondine But the question is..... how many times have we seen this kind of video ? It is a series that practically never ends ! And that's what then becomes boring and it becomes, to tell the truth, quite ridiculous as well. By the way then the way she says it with all her theatricality, it sounds as if there is a “law” in Italy that forbids people to drink a cappuccino after a certain hour. We also see this from the comments where people obviously respond that everyone drinks their cappuccino when they want it.

You take it way too seriously. She says it like that for comedic effect.:) Of course she knows many Italians don't necessarîly follow this guideline (which is supposed to protect your digestion) and everyone does what they want. And tiktok and youtube are always redundant because everyone follows trends. That's why you should spend minimal time on here:)

Ich als Italiener lebe hier in Deutschland und weiß wovon ich rede. Aber meine Landsfrau hier, mit dieser „Cappuccino Serie“, scheint keine Ende zu finden. 😉😀 Ich bin da viel toleranter und sage…. lass mal die Leute einen Cappuccino trinken, wenn immer sie dazu Lust haben. Natürlich gibt es Grenzen und es ist auch eine Frage des guten Geschmacks. Wenn ich zum Beispiel einige Deutsche sehe, die ein Cappuccino nach einem Mittagessen oder nach einem Abendessen trinken, naja…. da muss ich schon ein bisschen den Kopf schütteln. PS: Noch schlimmer, wie eine Amerikanerin, die hier auf diesem Kanal in einem Video gezeigt wurde, wo in einem italienischen Restaurant in Mailand, ein Cappuccino auf einem Teller Pasta bestellt hat ! Da hat sich selber der italienische Kellner schlecht gefühlt ! 😀
