I am not from Jamaica, so you know that this is a genuine comment, that is rooted in eating Jamaican food, and having the evidence myself. Jamaican food is the best in the world, and is the most popular. It is sad that so many around the world are getting rich off of Jamaican products, while the natives are not benefitting as much as they should from their products. One Love.
@annmariegrant8351
@annmariegrant8351 2 жыл бұрын
You touch on something very true here, why so many getting rich from Jamaican products and the natives are not? The government don’t know the value in the assets of the country, they rely on tourism when it should not be the main source of earnings for Jamaica. Jamaica has too much resources just sitting idle not being produced or marketed, Jamaica has been shut out of the North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) since the late 90s and nothing has been done to reinstate the country so they can market the products on a global level and that’s only one of the issues that prevents the natives from the benefits of the wealth of the country.

If you believe in that fairy book story sure “god” made black people more talented. It’s actually evolution and black people who came from Africa went through a lot of wars and hardships so their bodies evolved to be much stronger and better equipped for battles. Nothing to do with you so called god. Black/African people are just stronger and faster because of evolution. They are the superior race/ethnicity, simple as that.

Jamaica is not a place where they are weighed down with the toxicity of environmental pollution-on every level. Jamaica’s that I knew in the early 90s most ate truly healthy. I imagine this would be so on the island, where the food is much more fresh and not weighed down the added preservatives, msg, sodium. Americans for the most part have been exposed to many of the things Jamaicans have not been exposed to. Healthy living plays a major role in how one functions in every area.

Magical yams and mythical genes aside, I can't believe you left out the training, hard work and tremendous pressure from Boys & Girls Champs, which are THE major reasons for Jamaica's prodigious success. Consistent, vigorous training at an early age is the THE KEY to later athletic prowess, ask the Russians and East Europeans who produce the world's best gymnasts and ballet dancers thanks to their grueling training that begins at the age of 6.

To answer your questions.. Jamaica is not riddled with poisonous air quality, most foods are ñaturally grown and from the earth.. very limited processed food. .most students walk and run miles to school daily...many families are not previledged with school busses and private transportation.. Track and field sports is very inexpensive.. all that is needed is bare feet with no shoes and a place to run...youth are not excluded from track and field due to monèy...the rich and the poor have equal opportunity...in one sentence. Jamaicans are good at track because of the naturalness of the lifestyle and culture, determination, drive and commitment.

It’s certainly a combination of many factors. Not least, genetics, diet, training/endurance, ample provision of relevant sporting amenities etc. As for the two factors of genetics and diet, they are very prominent and related to the those prevalent in West Africa. DNA research has proven that most Black African Americans and Caribbean population, and by extension popular sprinters, are direct descendants of people of West Africa, which is the bastion of the fastest humans. Yam is equally a staple diet across West Africa. The world is yet to see the fastest sprinters. They will be coming from West Africa, especially Nigeria, when this currently turbulent region settles down and become more focused and coordinated in providing more resources for sporting activities. The few excelling athletes currently from this region make it to international limelight mostly through self help. There was a time when Nigeria was moving towards that direction, and getting positive results. But over time, things have gone terribly awry with very corrupt and bad sport administrators. There’s abundant potential talents here, but overwhelming lack of organisation and management.

I've heard that as well that's it because our progenitors would run away from the slave masters who hunted them down at gunpoint 🤨

@@babybaby2509 Well back in 2013 both Asafa Powell and Sherone Simpson from Jamica tested positive for doping. American Tyson Gay and let's not forget Marion Jones tested positive for doping as well. That pressure is something else for some of these athlete's. One thing for sure we all know that weed is not performance enhancing lol. I like ShaCarri, I'm still rooting for her but that race looked like a trial of smoke with the fire all in the front. Still SMH.

As a Black American, Sadly, the slave trade has something to do w/ African Americans being so physically dominate in many sports. Slave traders literally bred the strongest male and female slaves to make stronger slaves. Its horrible. But I do feel that has something to do w/ our physical prowess; at least in America.
