Another awesome video! I get so excited whenever I get a notification for this channel 🥰 I hadn't noticed the train as metaphor for letting in compassion at all. But it seems so obvious now that you point it out. I enjoyed this video much more than the actual Batman Begins. I have a request for a future video - would it be possible to do a tragedy? Is the structure of a tragedy very different from a regular hero's journey story?

Thanks Rachel, I really appreciate your support! :D Excellent suggestion. Tragedies are somewhat hard to come by, but I hope to get around to some eventually - maybe some Ingmar Bergman... For now the closest I've done is The Empire Strikes Back, where the protagonist fails to learn the lesson of the theme and is defeated in the Reversal. You'll also be pleased to know that November is going to be Star Wars prequel month! I'll go through all of them, and depending on who the protagonist turns out to be, Revenge of the Sith may prove to be a tragedy...

Great video. I personally do really like the film despite its editing issues and how it contradicts its themes, i.e. Batman killing people despite that being his one rule not to. Speaking of Christopher Nolan, it would be fascinating if you analyzed the film Tenet. I consider it to be his weakest film and its structure is kind of all over the place. I also don't know what the theme/s are, if any. If you find out, I would be very curious, but up to you.

Thanks Ben! I'm glad you liked the movie, and I wish I could join you! Absolutely, great suggestion. My initial plan was to step through Nolan's filmography chronologically. But I've been put off that, as making this video (about a movie I didn't like) was quite a slog haha. If this channel takes off, you can bet your bottom dollar I'll get back to cranking out Nolan's filmography! Especially dealing with Tenet. The structure is actually fairly straightforward - the second half is the first half in reverse. I do remember there being a theme, but I don't remember what it was. Hopefully I get to it one day!
