@augustpritchett4521

I learned about this in class once. After WW2, the GI bill was passed, allowing soldiers to go to college for free. Those soldiers contributed to the baby boom, which meant there were A LOT of potential students. So, a guy went to college for free and his sons could do the same. Then, the next generation of college students was significantly smaller, which meant that colleges had a lot of space to fill. Their solution was to market college as an experience instead of just a place to get an education. This was how all the amenities on campuses came about. College became a business with different universities competing with each other to be the nicest school or the most fun or has the fanciest programs. To pay for all that as well as to pay professors and fund academic projects, us students are forced to sell a kidney to get a degree. That's the summary of it.

2 Video Ideas: 1) The evolution of how we began drinking milk and the dairy industry. Coupled with the scientific theory that we evolved to do this in less sunny regions as a way to get Vitamin D. As studies show that the closer a populus is to the equator (with more sun), the more chance of lactose intolerance. 2) Or maybe how we went from cars going every which way at their invention to the standardized system of rules and regulations (including drivers licenses) that we have today

Corn was first domesticated about 10,000 years ago in what is now Mexico. Archaeologists discovered that people have known about popcorn for thousands of years. In Mexico, for example, remnants of popcorn have been found that date to around 3600 BC.

I didn't know the history of popcorn, but as a popcorn fanatic I had thought about it and assumed it endures in movie theaters because popcorn checks all the boxes - size, smell, texture, ease of grab - but most importantly, it's one of the only foods you can eat in darkness and not have to look down at even for a second, risking missing any movie magic!

At the end of the video you toss out the question “do they still make Smarties” and I can tell you that absolutely, Smarties are still made, they are one of my favorite candies, at least if we are talking about Smarties as made by the Smarties Candy Company in the United States (the little tablet candies that come stacked in a roll). If you are talking about the little chocolate candies made by Nestlé, those are also still being made, but NOT a favorite of mine. Looking on Wikipedia, the Smarties Candy Company made 2.5 billion rolls last year.

Late, but I'm sure she meant this from the perspective of the US. While it is definitely a part of the North American continent, it's "southern" to The States geographically (á la how we refer to lower states in the US intrinsically). It's regionally biased of course, but an understandable error.
