I have always loved Honda Civic for there durability and ability to perform even if you poured sand in your gas tank. Though, I never owned one or driven one they do look sporty with the flashy white on black with red accents. I don’t believe it should be worth $36k to have front wheel drive. They could have made it rear wheel for all the drifter fanatics but I do believe better control of a twin turbo 300hp sport is a must in handling ratios. I got the next best thing when it comes to a sport car. I have a 2019 Subaru WRX STi , 310 hp, all wheel drive, White on black with red accents. 3 mode boost ratio with c diff. It cost me $43k but worth the money. Let me know if you guys want to ever do a comparison. I am down, lol. Cheers guys!

Its direct injected, which creates less heat, meaning they turned the engine around to heat the engine using the exhaust heat, which gets really hot after a while because the cooling fan is also blowing the exhaust heat at the motor. The integrated header already does a good enough job at warming the engine but people thing 5 mins is still too long. Best thing to do for me is to just pour in a bottle of lucas oil supercoolant and wrap the battery in heat deflectors. Thats just me.

Lol I think you said it. "They're great for what they do" which isn't really much. But atleast the Type R does have straight line speed. Few people will track these cars so to have str8 like speed is great, because will Challengers and Chargers being so cheap it was hard to justify buying a Honda Civic and pulling up to work in the thing. Now it's a little less embarrassing, you don't look like a temp agency hire.

I had a 2019 CTR for two years, absolutely enjoyed every minute behind the wheel. The part about eating tires....this man speaks truth. Biggest downside to owning the car though was the consistent lag time for the infotainment system to boot up. Routinely, I would wait 20-60 seconds for the damn thing to start working after starting the engine. Then, another 20 seconds to be able to change radio/SXM stations. Part time hassle, but in the grand scheme of things, at least I wasn't driving the new BMW Supra.

I have a 2019 FK8 and it’s the epitome of a daily driver. I paid 37k for mine used a year and a half ago with 6k miles. But I’d say this car is well worth 45k tbh, the k20c1 is so early in its R&D from aftermarket support and people are already pushing stock engines to 500+hp with FBO on flex fuel and sometimes a turbo upgrade. I’d say in the next 10 years it’ll hold a decent value and will be plentiful in aftermarket support as it’s predecessor the k20a’s and z’s. It’s a great platform and I get a smile every time I drive it 🥲

Biggest problem with the Type R was the insane markup at dealers. Last year I was deciding between this and the i30N FL, both cars had around the same MRSP of around 42k € in Germany, but when it came to the dealer prices.... the i30N FL was going for 36-37k, while the Type R was going for 45-47k.... EDIT: even a used Type R with 2-3 years and around 30-50tkm on it was going for 34-36k€!

Bought my 2020 CTR at MSRP on a whim. Didn’t know much about the car, had long since moved on from my Integra and RSX. Having become a Subaru man, I saw the CTR laying waste to laggy, heavy, gas guzzling STI’s and abandoned ship. I’ll likely never go back to Subaru (RIP STI), and the practicality if the CTR makes it a great little daily. But unless you’re getting this car at MSRP, it’s value quickly diminishes. I’m excited to see the 11th (and likely final gas powered) CTR but I can’t say I’d buy it. They’re fantastic, but in the end the front wheels move first and despite how well Honda has made that bearable…you can’t escape the shortcomings

Bought an STi as well. It's because of practicality for me though. The STi is more roomy than the type R and I like that raw, old school analog feel. Let's not forget bout having a handbrake handle. The type R is more comfy and quiet though, but I am happy with the boxer rumble and fitting multiple dogs in the backseat comfortably and go off-road, no complaints there.

30's? My area (PNW) pretty much just saw its first listing AT $40k about two weeks ago (been looking on and off for about two years), and like 30-40k+ miles at that price. That said, seats I've heard are some of the most comfortable in the game, some of the best (if not THE best) interior storage capacity out of anything in this segment, gas mileage isn't great but isn't bad... I think this is the best 5-door you can buy, period, but because people know that so commonly, these are gonna hold serious value. Would do unspeakable things for one in Aegean Blue or SGP...

In a sense the pro's are completely clueless and just now starting to get a clue. Back in 90s I had an EK6 Hatchback with $10k of upgrades and supposed expert didn't view it as a real sports car. Wrong wheel drive is actually the right-wheel-drive for those who have to react to a situation vs hitting the brakes at the right time for a turn they've done a 1000s of time.
