Why Does God Allow Suffering? Part 1

Pastor Greg Laurie shares a message entitled "Why Does God Allow Suffering, Part 1" from Job 1. Every life is filled with trouble no matter who we are. If God is good and loving why does He allow evil and suffering? Here, in the Book of Job, we see an example of a righteous man that suffered and lost everything he had in his life, but he never lost His faith in the goodness and love of God.

I've come to think that God didn't take my husband and parents from me, He just moved them to my someday eternal address.

The MAIN REASON God allows evil .....is to _show His Glory!_ ALL Glory goes to the KING of Kings, and LORD of Lords! :)

I love that word from God! All things work together for the good of those who love God and are the called according to his purpose. That was good!

I believe when it comes down to life we will get to a place where we have to trust him and not try to figure out the whole scheme of things. It's too big to understand . Just love him and live your life as good as u can. There is. Bigger plan for us in heaven.

God allows suffering because, duh, he gave us the power to overcome it all.

IMHO I think in the first place, we are the one who let sin enter our world which is never the intention of GOD and yet our Heavenly merciful Father still sent His son Jesus Christ to come to redeem us. All glory to GOD.

I think Harvest is great, but in the year I went there, the times I tried to meet Pastor Greg, I was pointed in directions of associate pastors. Don’t get me wrong they were great men but not once did I ever meet Pastor Greg, he was like a celebrity who couldn’t be bothered. As soon as I went to another church, congregation of 3000, I was greeted personally by the pastor. Again, Harvest is great but I would’ve loved to meet Pastor Greg.

I would never imply you're less important than any other member/staff of Harvest's multiple locations, but can you imagine how many people want a 'minute' of his time? I promise you you're not forgotten, brother. Btw I'm not even a Harvest member but thought I'd throw in my two cents. God bless you, hope you're having a great day.

Since GOD is omnicient & knows the beginning to the end he already knew what would happen after all that satan did to Job and what he would follow up with. Satan knows his time is short but really has no idea just what his soon to be end is.

Hi Jacqulyn, what's troubling you if I may ask? You may find that helping others in similar troubling situations as yours is the reason why you're here. And with the advent of the internet, perhaps you and I could find peace in searching online and in real life to let people know we also are hurting but we have a God, a son and a holy spirit that understand and hear our cries for ourselves and for others. I hope you're ok today!

Hello pastor Greg Laurie. I really want to die. I can't stand it anymore I felt that I am alone everyday. I felt that I am stuck from my consciousness in this world. I felt uncomfortable everyday! It feels not right for me and the pain rises into the abyss. :(.

Praying for you. Hold on to Jesus Christ and He will see you through. I feel lonely sometimes too. He is there for us.

Diane, I'm a victim of some narcissists in the Philippines. I am planning to kill this body so that I will be in the soul world for my freedom rather than to be sad in this world of hell!

@@jralmeral7504 Please do not kill yourself. I have had much evil done to me in this life, but Jesus Christ is faithful to see us through. Please please promise you won't kill yourself. There is no guarantee of getting into heaven if you do. Please ask that God will by His Holy Spirit be with you. Having Jesus in your life will see you through. Heaven is only promised to those who have Jesus. I'm praying for you.
