There we’re two comics of Batman in which he never existed. And in both the villains still appear despite the fact Bruce never became the dark knight, once more hinting that it maybe a spiritual aspect of the city itself. Even in the episode Trial the new da for Gotham had proved that it wasn’t Batman that made them become villains but rather themselves.

This is why I think a Batman origin story is more interesting if the villains are already running Gotham and Batman has to be created out of a necessity to bring them to justice.

The way i see it, Batman keeps organized crime supressed but he also inspires super criminals, so it’s a “damned if you do, damn if you dont” situation…

Crime in Gotham went from being controlled by wealthy and ruthless mob families that are untouchable to the law to a gallery of mentally ill theatre nerds that who's plans fail on a weekly basis, I say that's a win.

It’s weird that anyone would think Batman is the cause when his Parents were murdered. This was going on long before Bruce Wayne was born.

Before Batman kriminals and coruption ruled Gotham, good people like Gordon and Dent tried to do someting within the limits of the law but it did not have efect. When Batman arived he put fear into comon kriminals, but then supervilans aroved in response and Batman stops them, if he kiled them he would be criminal, if he does not kill them they come back. Without Batman Gotham would come back to criminals and now supevilans, so now Gotham neads Batman to keep the people safe since they do not do anithing importante to combat crime and coruption.

I think a video on why people would move to Gotham would be cool

Supervillains exist because the comics would rapidly grow dull if they didn’t. Just the same as the argument that supervillains develop because of superheroes, the same could be said of vice versa. It’s the societies that develop these advanced beings, not the beings themselves, because when one is created, its polar opposite will be too (for the sake of narrative, if nothing else.)

Hello there Batcave and Happy New Year to you and everyone else in this wonderful community. I have to admit that this video was absolutely awesome and really does make one think if the question that is presented in this video is absolutely true. I have to admit that I really enjoy how some of the movies and some of the comics, like Batman: White Knight actually deal with this question. However in my opinion, I have to say that I really don't think that Batman is the root of the problem in Gotham nor is he the perfect solution to it either. Especially since Bruce could have used his family's money and company to make Gotham better, by investing in affordable housing in areas that need it or even giving some of the money to the police to hire more men and women to serve and protect. To be honest, besides the factors that were mentioned in the video, there are some others to think about as well.
