Just look at the way he avoided the mason mount's question. This is the problem, when someone is not doing fine, there's no shame in calling him out. He was also very terrible at the world cup and a whole lot of people called for him to be benched for foden but at Chelsea, he starts almost every game. It's no coincidence that since mount returned to Chelsea, we have not been scoring enough and it's just unfortunate that he will keep costing managers their jobs until they discover that he isn't creative enough to play for Chelsea FC.

Mount's biggest cost to Chelsea has been playing 5,000 minutes a year, every year. Some of those minutes needed to be distributed elsewhere. It stunted the development of this team, especially in attack, and made it one dimensional. It cost a lot of faith that players would be held accountable when they played poorly, and that players would get opportunities if they worked hard and played well in practice. There have been 2 standards at Chelsea. One for Mount (and Havertz and now Sterling to a lesser degree), and another standard for everyone else. Just my opinion, and I really like Mount.

Obviously Mount has been quite poor for a while now and they should be looking for other options, but he's "the guy" at Chelsea and they seem to think he'll work out long term. I don't see it personally, I think he's a decent squad player but you have guys like Ziyech and Pulisic who will sit on the bench while he plays as a winger and they are both far better than him at those positions. He's a a squad player, if he's averaging more than 45 minutes per game your team will not be in the hunt for a PL title, it's that simple. Same can be said for Havertz as well, he's a sub at most if you want to win the PL title, but a better option is to just sell him and let him take a step down to the Bundesliga like Werner did. The current players they have that are capable of being big minute players and winning a PL title are Fofana, Sterling, Ziyech, Pulisic, Kante, Reece, Koulibaly, Silva, Chilwell, and Kovacic. The rest of them should be sold and replaced asap because that's about half the players they would need to really compete for it.

ESPN FC is the most fun when Sid is on.

The thing about Mount is he has no outstanding qualities or abilities. He's the most ready salted player in the league. Decent in most of what a midfielders skillset usually is, but excellent at nothing. Not top 6 quality at all. One thing I notice about him which makes him a terrible option as a number 10 is the fact he doesn't have the ability to play well in tight spaces. Need someone more agile and nimble there.

Every Chelsea manager that has had Mount has played him. I know he is in a run of bad form but let's not pretend he isn't a very good player. My opinion is he should play in the midfield and focus on creating for others. He is good at those opportunistic long shots you get from the midfield but he isn't a forward.

The British media always hipe up England player. They don't call them out when their players are out of form. But when it comes to foreign players, the British media is quick to call for their heads. $80 million Maguire(benched), Mount(wants 300+ a week, Ghallegar (nobody know what they bring) D Rice (over price) have anybody seen J Sancho? Trying to be positive but Felix is not what Chelsea need at all. Wow that was the biggest deflection for a question I"ve ever seen for Mason Mount. Him and Havertz need to ride the bench for a good period of time. How they consistently start is beyond me. I would play Auba ST, Felix LF, Ziyech RF. I would make sure the midfield plays through and use their striker. I would play Zakaria, Jorginho, Kovacic through the CM and 4 at the back. Chelsea is a graveyard for goal scorers and Havertz is being played as a #9 as if it's so easy to score goals. Lukaku could've been better if he was played through like at Inter and Auba was just putting them in at Barca, don't tell me he can't score now but Chelsea's "old heads" (Havertz/Mount) REFUSE to pass to these men and no one talks about it.

Chelsea needs to look inward. Why are players like Pulisic, Ziyech, Timo Werner, Olivier Giroud and others mediocre at Chelsea but outstanding when they play for other teams? Pulisic was a standout on the US National Team, particularly at the World Cup, as well as under Frank Lampard; Ziyech was a breakout at the World Cup, and has Aryen Robben's left foot, which we rerely get to see at Chelsea; Giroud is a scoring beast for France; Werner scores freely for Germany, and despite not scoring at Chelsea, the team nearly always won when he was driving the pace from the 7 or 8 position (c.f. the Champion's League assist to Havertz). Yet under Tuchel and/or Potter these guys languish on the bench. In other words, every time one of them fails, the common denominator is Chelsea. Is there a lesson somewhere in there, hmmmm?
