Brad I am in the same boat. I have limited myself to throwing nothing above a nine speed and focusing on form (flat release and adding a runup) . I currently throw everything from a standstill. This pod cast has changed my game so much. You guys rock

When Brad talks about the grip/feel a disc has, I am right there with him. As he is a drummer and I am a guitarist we know all about touch and feel..... For all of you listening/watching, trust a musician when it comes to how good a disc feels.

I think basically the discussion like 20 to 25 mins in is Brad is building a bag where he mainly throws one angle so then he picks the disc to do the work based on the shot vs Hunter can manipulate the angle from flat to a lot of hyzer so he can get less discs to do multiple shots. So the answer to Brads question on when the transition begins is when you are confident throwing discs on multiple angles and you know what they are going to do.

I score best when I'm hitting drivers at 80-90% off the tee mids under 150ft (roughly 60-70% of what I can do standstill) on up shots, and Im putting hard in to heavy catching baskets.

I am so similar to hunter, I have a tern that is a very overstable tern. Hyzer thrower for sure. The struggle is real. I have a hades like the one Trevor destroyed too if you ever want another.

Mint disc lobster in apex plastic is great understable mid that bombs! It kicked my midnight prowl 1 out of my bag!

I can relate to the not liking the feel of distance drivers. I stick mostly to 7-9 speeds, IT/F7/Leopard/Teebird/Roadrunner/Thunderbird/Savant. LHBH/RHBH/RHFH around 400ft. There are some distance drivers that have a control driver sized rim, like a Mystere or the Prodigy Hybrid Drivers. A great option for people who want to use distance drivers but don't like the wide rim. I mostly throw hyzer flips and play wooded courses. The F7 and IT are for my LHBH which is slower than RHBH, and for sky hyzerflip RHBH turnover shots.

I could not disagree with Hunter more on the Comet… I bagged a 2021 Johansen tour series Comet and it was a hyzer to turn disc from the day I got it. 20 Degrees of hyzer to smooth right movement the whole flight and flattening out a bit at the end

Same thing for me with the '21 Tour Series (Metallic Z). My new ESP Swirl MJ Icon version is a bit more stable and goes dead straight. I think Hunter was bagging a Big Z.

Interesting bag theory episode idea. Do you feel like there is a need for a flip up under stable disc and a more panning under stable disc for the same slot? For example I have a flippy aviar, but a neutral-under stable xero. Is there room for both? I do the same for mids and fairways too. Example is I think the roadrunner is a panning anhyzer disc where the sidewinder is a hyzer flip disc.

Absolutely! I have this in my bag with all speed categories basically. A Spin and an Inner Core, a Tursas and a MindBender, Flippy Maverick and Kona Maverick. My flip up discs are a notch or two more understable than the panning types. Panning types are usually very neutral in my bag, like they will hold most lines to the ground. I like to throw on a pretty steep Hyzers for my Hyzers flips so I need extra Flippy discs for that.

Yes! I bag 3 different plastic and beat sidewinders. For multiple different shots. -Halo which is stable, doesn’t flip -G star sidewinder flips and rides to the right then slightly fades back. - old 160g gummy champion that just glides to the right and doesn’t come back.

Mold reduction is such an easy way to ease one's mind. Changing weights, runs, and plastic type for a mold you truly love will do more for your game than bagging a dozen different molds that all feel and fly different.

One misconception is more dome means a disc will be more overstable. The stability of the disc is determined mostly by rim configuration, PLH, and softness of the plastic. Center dome does make a difference. If the disc rises/starts doming quickly off of the rim it wont really make it any more stable, just glidey. However, if the dome rises much more in the center than a gradual dome it will make it more overstable. All discs get softer over time and that leads mostly to the disc be less stable/good beat in. If the rim gets chips and large scrapes it will make it less stable but in a bad way. It will turn more but lose speed much faster. Thats why you will see some people get a destroyer to turn and maybe not come back but only throw mid 300s tops. Its usually because its a damaged destroyer not a good beat in.
