I propose a new idea: Plastic Addicts was fun, but the episodes that REALLY shined were the disc dyeing ones. I think "Si-Dyes" could be an awesome thing for Foundation!

Brodie is so right. That is exactly the difference between professionals and amateurs across all sports. You have to put the work in. I tell my kids this all the time as they dream of being professionals.

Love hearing Brodie talk about his journey. A lot of people are haters but just can’t admit he worked incredibly hard to rise as fast as he did. Couldn’t agree more that rounds aren’t for getting better at throwing. They’re for learning the course and testing your bag etc. Some people play 4-7 times a week and still don’t throw as much as me in a field for an hour.

I’m AM3, been playing a couple of times per week for a couple of years and just started playing tournaments. Good to hear that I’m doing pretty much the same as Brodie. Core staples that don’t leave the bag. Certain accessory discs that come in and out depending on the course, and I try to play a couple of practice rounds before a tournament throwing 3-4 off the tee to dial in my bag. Once the bag is pretty dialed in I make sure I have some extras in there to account for wind changes.

I started out trying and having a bunch of discraft molds. Over the last year, I have found that Brodie's mentality is my default. Realistically, I play all my normal courses around Charlotte with like 4 or 5 discraft molds and my putter. I got back into disc golf again around the same time as Brodie. I just jumped onto the discraft bandwagon, and I'm perfectly happy with the simplicity of a single manufacturer. I agree that most of the molds do basically the same thing within a manufacturer.

Same color discs is definitely a risky move. Early on I had a Thunderbird and Leopard that were the same and I accidentally threw the wrong one a few times. Now it’s not so bad as long as you condition yourself to double check. I sometimes carry almost exactly the same color Plasma Wave, Tesla, and Volt.

I think Brodie might be talking about Calvin's Eagles! Love Brodie's philosophy on disc selection, especially protecting himself from hit-by-a-bus syndrome if he loses a disc. Also, more Silas!

If you spend 2 hours a day putting, how do you keep form consistent and not change it from fatigue?

Once the fatigue creeps in thats when you stop or move to 15 footers or so if you want keep to practing. Practicing short putts when fatigued actually helps make it even more automatic on the course

15 minute sessions. I do that 2-4 times per day. Slowly improving.

Little off topic but I really wish the fort wayne got more love for disc golf. There are five 18 hole courses and within an hour drive there are 30 to 40 other courses in surrounding towns.

Yes imagine any human ever managing, to throw 600ft, but can't putt? Also I'm a terrible putter, but I still haven't thrown one shot over 400ft on level ground. I putt maybe 85% at 15 ft and about 40% at 20ft and about 10% at 25ft.

Most of all guests on the show either have no idea how far 400ft is, or my rule is subtract atleast 10% from what someone says their controlled distance is. I've seen a popular youtuber throw that claims they throw in the 400s, but it's more like 360 on a great throw. I love when people I play with sometimes that "go that was atleast 450" after a big shot. I pull out the range finder and it was like 375 or so. I can tell when people lie on youtube about their distance based on the hang time and speed of their throws.

Practicing only making putts has seemed to help me push past that point. Robbie teaches that, but so does Eagle and Matt Bell, and many other great putters. If you’re only hitting 20% from 20’, don’t practice 20 footers. Start around 10’ and take one step back for every 2 putts in a row made. If you miss, take a step forward, or even start over at 10’ again. Took me a couple of weeks of doing this daily and realized I was consistently getting to 25-28’ before missing. I’ve plateaued a bit there, but I’m trusting the process for another couple of months and we’ll see what happens.
