This is the part of the Rich School Girl & Poor School Girl series that got REALLY interesting. The previous videos show their high school social / family interactions to the school food that they eat. As someone mentioned, Jei has no concept on the "value of money" and hence she has no attachment to her personal items even when it got lost. It was staggering to hear her say "Oh I lost my phone like 6 times", heck when I lost mine for the first time, I was upset and vowed to be careful of my personal items & take good care of them. This is also the video where Yeji's pragmatism shines, because someone who is from a lower part of the socio-economic ladder would be more frugal & will stretch the value of their money. Look at her dollar store finds, simple products that is cheap yet made well.

The term "poor girl" is questionable in regards to this video. Yes, she has less than the rich girl, but she has a lot of nice things and lets not forget she lives in Korea, a very wealthy country. I'm a Finn born and living still under the poverty line with majority of my life being totally zero income (no adults working). The "poor" girl is living a very nice life if she can get an iPhone and still gets an allowance that big. I would wear hand-me-downs from cousins, only got new clothes from clearance or large sales and never got an allowance. I would eat moldy food suprisingly often, cause it would be the only stuff we had. I also ate less than 1dl in a day at home plus one bread with milk. I have only had my own room for 2-3 years now despite living in the same apartment for over 13. The rest of the time it was either the shared bed, couch or floor (couch and floor for a few years, sometimes sharing a couch with my dad). Me having three bras was considered to be too many to be afforded and I could only buy more when I started getting school benefit money. My underwear as so many rips and holes (plus is deformed and stretched out) that you can't even use them for rags, but I can't afford to replace them so. 🤷♀️ My rich "friend" who legit thinks she's poor is driving a 2021 Tesla as her first car. This girl doesn't even get close to representing first world country poor. She's living a comfortable life. I wish they will cast an actually poor person next time.

To the people saying about the rich girl not being mindful of her things and whatnot, its not really entirely her fault tbh. She just needs to be lectured properly. Its her parents. I could be the world's richest person in the world and have a daughter like her but I would NOT buy her a phone 6 times that she has lost it in maybe a couple of months. I'd maybe buy her a phone twice, (its even a flagship iphone mind you) but after that, if she lost a phone 2-3 times, I'd either not buy her a phone and let her realize how hard it is to live in society w/o one or just buy her a really cheap but still useable phone so that she'd realize how good of a phone it was that she lost. Then she could just earn her phone through a part time job. Even then, her own parents said that they don't want her working a job. Even the accessories, makeups, bags, etc.. that she has, I wouldn't shell out more than 50-500 USD for just each of those. Her parents are to blame if ever she gets spoiled too much in general.

@@ladisanindya that’s actually insane. So if someone in SK has an iPhone, they’re rich rich. It makes sense for Samsung to not be as expensive thete

@@GloBear801 not only in SK, basicly in Asia, since I live in Asia also. I bought iphone 7 128gb on 2016 when it’s released in SG and it’s around $1000, which mean more expensive compare to it’s original price in the US. Even when I bought the iphone 11, people looking at me like wow she’s rich 😅 This year I can’t afford an iphone anymore since it’s too expensive, the price is ridiculous here in Asia 😅😅

maybe the girl has ADHD or focus issues ? I have autism (diagnosed) and maybe ADHD (undiagnosed but many of my family members have it) and I loose a lot of things (a lot less expensive than what she looses) but I also keep forgetting where I put things and loose a few items like umbrellas or sunglasses

I belong to the upper class but I have always been frugal. My parents didnt inherit generational wealth, but rather had to work 3-5x to climb that ladder. I feel like it' important to value hard work and money. Some people couldn't buy 1 IPhone even if they have to save for a year.
