I bought a 91 Town Car in 2015 and it's been my daily driver since. Other than some deferred maintenance and minor repairs due to the previous owner's neglect, it's been incredibly reliable since...and super comfortable!

I own a 1991 TC and it has about 150,000 miles. I've done a lot of repairs and upgraded to some heavier duty parts, but the greatest upgrades I made, was pulling out that EGR valve, catalytic converter delete and threw in a dual exhaust. The throttle response is triple what it used to be, it sounds great, and the engine and transmission operates so much better!

Best bang for the buck! I have a Silver 92 TC with 81,000 on it. Paid 2k for it from the original owner. Another 2k for maintenance, battery, intake manifold, all fluids, tires ect. Compared to my 07 TC I really think the build quality on this generation was at a zenith!!! Al Bundy told me so...

i watched a number of videos about the 95-97 lincoln towncar, their owners often mention their like for the curved dashboard and doors. i think that is why people dont like towncars prior to 95, because those don't have that curved dashboard. same me, i like the 95-97 towncar because of its curved and angled dashboard. the outward form is nice too, not to boxy and not to round, looks are all in the right place. that is a car that looks straight and well enough to show up wherever, there is even people who like the 95-97 lincoln towncar for driving to their wedding. if possible, i would take the dashboard and doorpanels from the 95-97 model lincoln towncar and build them into the lincoln towncars that were prior to 95, same outward body. i think the 95-97 Lincoln Towncar is one of the nicest cars EVER made, like the 90s mercedes 600s, 90s bmw 860csi, nissan 300zx tt, 90s toyota supra, 90s honda nsx, 90s audi v8, porsche 959.

I've always appreciated the brand, but as I save up for a new daily driver, I'm starting to think Lincoln is the ultimate American automotive brand. It held on to the chromed-out, gigantic V8 chariot stereotype as honestly and as long as it could. Lots of brands have rough spots where build quality or questionable design put dark marks on their proud history *COUGH* *COUGH* CADILLAC *COUGH* COUGH*. However, FoMoCo, and especailly Lincoln, seems like it was able to make a reliable product for several decades straight, only finally caving when the market couldn't support it anymore. The Town Car had the fleet muscle of the Crown Vic with the plush luxury and flair of a real American luxury car, making for a perfect storm of attractive styling with solid engineering to back it up.

My favorite Lincolns are the 1995-1997 Town Cars and have owned and loved my "Grandpa Cars". Yes I want it to ride like a sofa and pillows. So what, if I cannot take a turn at 90 mph, who really cares. Next was my 2001 Continental four door with 4.6 wait for it, 32 Valve V8 Intech that was blast. I have many pics of these cars as I sold the Continental with 280,000 miles and not burning or leaking any fluid. (At 320,000 I am told the transmission went out.)

What makes the Town Car Cartier have more HP than the Executive? Is it the dual exhaust that makes it more powerful, or is it something else? I have a 1997 Town Car Executive. I want to figure out if there is some sort of limit on the HP, or if it's just the single exhaust that is holding back the power.

I have a 96 that’s one month younger than me. I’m doing what I can to slowly get it back to being a perfect running vehicle again. I have loved the body of them for ages. I’d almost want to get another to turn into an all electric and make it 4 wheel drive. What makes it better is the idler and the door hinges were the biggest problems but I got it for $200 cause the guy was just gonna junk it and that’s what they offered him.

Mr. Random Reviews : My parents had a 1991 Mercury Grand Marquis. It had a 302 V-8, the last year you could get the 302 in the "panther" car. The 4.6 liter came out for the Grand Marquis and Crown Victoria in 1992. I believe this Town Car body came out for the 1992 model year, not 1990.

My favorite generation was the '90s generation when they were still square and looked like a limo should look. The last generation Town Cars look like a mercury. And with that said, tomorrow I'm picking up a 2008 with 53,000 miles, garage kept, maintenance by the books and it's $8,000. I didn't think I would own another town car, two was enough. But a close friend is selling this one, a little old lady. So my question is, should I replace the fluids with synthetic oil or continue to use what they've always used in this car?? Other than that, I'm going to drive the sucker. I can't wait to take a trip from Dallas to Tennessee and back. What a ride!
