Hi Christian, you better build your own. In Bogor, West Java, there is a Rindu Technic Workshop that can build and customize campervans or motorhomes. And Indonesia has a community of campervans who have traveled around Indonesia. But until now, no foreigner has driven and lived in a campervan or motorhome to get around Indonesia.

We went to Candi Dasa and Amed last summer, east Bali truly is a beautiful part of the Island, especially if you like diving and snorkeling as well

rather than bali, for a savannah experience, you can try Taman Nasional Baluran ( Baluran National Park ) in Sitobondo/Banyuwangi, East Java. Its called africa van java for its similarity with africa

hey Christian, We use to live in a skoolie back in the states we are now traveling Vietnam and we found that most people live in skoolies and vans because the housing is so expensive if you live in countries like vietnam or thai land housing is so cheap that its not needed. We got a 2000sqft house in vietnam for $249 a month. Its insanely cheap to live here.

looks like a lot of fun. But a question...could you do this also on your own, or do you NEED the drivers? I mean, if you have an international driver license..it should be fine! Beside ..yeah, you looked wrecked in the morning...but happens to me too after camping a night into the wild..but mostly alone somewhere on the mountains..haha ..Have fun guys

Why did it take 4.5 instead of 2 hours? It did not seem that this van was not able to do same speed limit as the newer one.

We had to take the long way around. Couldn’t go through the mountains and it was incredibly slow

Watched this video to 'find out' that 'why does nobody van life Bali', but I am not sure I understood the answer :P Coz Vans break down a lot? Coz of the weather?
