@@Freelancer837 Yes they are. Cold War was originally a stand alone title, but Treyarch took over the dev of the game, so they added the black ops name and characters. So yeah they do feel hamfisted.

Bowman was just more indifferent to Hudson rather than hating him like Woods. At least that’s what I got from their EXTREMELY brief interactions. You also left out the fact that Hudson was captured and tortured into betraying Mason and Woods by Menendez. That context is important because although Hudson did use Mason and Woods selfishly throughout the years, he still considered them valuable allies and good friends, almost like brothers. Which is also why despite having a family, he willingly sacrificed himself so Woods and David Mason could live. He felt like he owed it to them after getting Mason killed or incapacitated depending if you shot Mason in the head or leg.

I’ve always liked Hudson to a degree, he’s really freaking shady, but you can see overtime he kinda gets more friendly with mason, i think as-well in bo1 when mason talks highly about him he kinda asks about it slightly, like he appreciates what hes saying almost. I definitely prefer him over adler, but they’re both morally shady people.

Menendez even said he wouldn’t kill David. It was either Mason for the shot in the eye and killing his sister Josefina with Woods or Hudson because the CIA killed his father and family

Probably not because Hudson’s situation was either go along with it or Menendez kills David, then him, probably Mason and Woods, then God knows how many people down the line. However, from Wood’s point of view it’s probably easier to take all the pain and guilt from what he did (since regardless of the ending he believes he killed Mason) and direct it at Hudson (and obviously Menendez)

1:03-2:08 The sounds of the comms/radio as they’re communicating with Hudson just sound dark, eerie, and unsettling (imo), I’m almost not surprised Menendez was behind all of this. Then again it could be BECAUSE of Menendez’s actions here at the end of the mission that make the sound of the radios sound sus

I'd love a black ops that would take place in the 1970s during operation Charybdis. The idea of Mason, Weaver, Hudson and Woods marked for elimination and on the run from the Cia Director while hiding in South Africa would be a cool idea. Weaver's niece would be used to lure them out, only to fall in love with Mason and have David. Even encountering a young John Price. That's a black ops story I'd love to see.

I want to speculate on that Mason was supposed to either meet Hudson at a rendezvous point or secure an extraction or something similar. Something to separate the two as they're pretty much the most iconic duo. When Mason reached the area he was supposed to be in, Menendez ambushed him as probably at this point, Menendez already got to Hudson and was using him for leverage to do what he wanted by telling Hudson to tell Woods that Mason was Menendez under the bag

Masons confirmed dead now but what I would like to know is in the good ending how did mason fake being dead or walk a 50. to the knee off? And as I think about it, and what others point out is that the “good” ending doesn’t make much sense narratively, that is why his death here is canon.

Woods personally doesnt like Hudson but Mason trust Hudson and that's enough for Woods. Noriega said "no one must know I betrayed him" Thanks to English language, implied context of the mission and the antagonist's gender we thought Noriega betrayed Menendez but in reality Noriega betrayed Hudson and when Kravchenko said Menendez has people in CIA he meant Noriega not Hudson even though Noriega is not directly employed by the CIA in real life.

Playing this mission as a kid, I always thought that wasn’t Hudson on the comms and was wondering how Woods didn’t recognize that only to just recently find out that he just had a different voice acto

You have the chronology backwards. Woods' encounter with Noriega was in 1989, long after Woods first met Hudson in Vietnam. I'm sure the reason Woods and Bowman distrust Hudson and the CIA has something to do with their bad intel on Castro.

Got Mason (Somewhat) out of his brainwashing and then even kept him out of prison. Doesn't make sense because BO2 happened after BO1 so there is no reason that he hates Hudson because of that, and if Hudson didn't do what menendez told him they were going to kill David which Woods knows so this isn't correct. And Hudson died after that so he didn't have any beef with him after that.

Soldiers, SF, Black Operators-- generally dislike outside agencies. Imagine having an asshole step-dad thar arbitrarily arrives and tells you how you need to play in the sandbox, and he says he built it, so he's the boss of it. Similar feeling, but with the added idea that the rules are ambiguous and change constantly. I don't like Hudson either.

Idk if it’s confirmed which ending to BOII was canon, but assuming it’s the one where Mason lives, it’s cruel they let Woods believe he killed him all those years. The most likely scenario is that Mason and Hudson were working together because they knew they had a leak. Woods might’ve been firing blanks so they could trick him into thinking he killed Mason. Glad we may finally get some answers with BO6.
