I did a full wooden playset restoration on my kid’s old swing set. Pressure washing and refinishing the play set brought it back to life and it looks brand new now.

I wish me and my brother's playset could be fixed like that... But we don't play in it much anymore because it's a little too small, and we like playing in the woods better. Maybe when we find the time we'll fix it up and give it to our cousin (she's 2 and LOVES it when she comes over).

good idea i would recomend a rotary tool for any stuck nuts and bolts it helped a lot when we sold our swingset since i went through and ground all the woodstain off the bolt threads and backed all the nuts in and out till they turned smoothly

"Darn it"! Wish I'd seen this before I refurbished ours, I hand sanded and scrubbed ours then hand painted with a protective coat, it too looked like new but it was really hard work, then I sold it on ebay for peanuts !! Won't be doing that again 😂

I got my brother in law's playset...did a makeover a lot like this...this was satisfying to watch..his kids had outgrown it.... it is perfect for my little boy. Cost him 16,000$...cost me about 400$ in stain and a few replacement pieces of stock lumber...he wanted it moved..and I needed one...a win win!!

Thank you for not being wasteful and choosing to clean and fix the structure, rather than tear it down and throw it away. So many people just waste everything. It’s nice to see someone repairing over replacing. I wish I could find a local TV repair shop again like they had in the 90’s, but it’s virtually a “dead business.” :/

Excellent refresh, we bought this exact swing-set/clubhouse for our kids 10 years ago (Costco). I had re-stained it but after a few more years with carpenter bees turning it into Swiss cheese, earlier this fall I cut it up and we had a nice large bonfire!! The kids didn't even cry, now one less thing to mow around.

I love the slide for easy egress! Too much fun. And that was a great tip to put the climbing handholds in the bucket to clean them with the pressure washer! You made quite a transformation with this project!

Great job, 1 thing I will suggest for others is if you have a "smaller" swing set attachment loot to swap out the cross beam with either a 4x6x12 or 2 2x6x12's sistered together. I actually added 1 swing set attachment to each side of mine for maximum amount of swing options.

That is literally my play set that I have had for so long. We didn’t have the rope thought. And we are getting rid of the play set to get a second porch (I already have a Pool and another porch) so it would look super ugly to just have a rusted up play set in the middle. So yeah, I am kind of sad that we are getting rid of it, but we don’t use it anymore anyways.
