Well, it was great when I saw it at the theater. Everybody liked it. Maybe you should watch Home (2015) it’s a dreamworks movie and you’re gonna love it, and it’s funny. I recommend you watch it.

I would say it's fixable, the villain seems better than the protagonist and many other things that nuch people already said.

@@alfysCave and I would say it needs a sequel. Frozen 2 was better than Frozen according to public opinion. It added more to an existing story.

What I also find interesting from the extra’s of this film is that Magnifico’s name is a male version name of Maleficent, as a tribute to Disney’s 100 years of filmmaking

That's not even true because even in the book he asks Star why he was ignored when his family was killed, he curses himself to stop the threat of a star like.. he literally says it lol it's heroic and very selfless compared to a kid who joined his apprenticeship just to ask for a wish

Im just going off the movie they released, so if there is a book with the same premise, good for you for sticking up for it, its hard when a book that people really enjoyed is interpreted & if you don’t agree with it, thats totally fair! I personally enjoy the animated film & had a blast with it, if you didn’t, totally fair & you are entitled to your own opinions!😊

This is EXACTLY how I felt about Encanto. So much missed potentional for that movie because it was rushed. And they could have made half of those songs better.

@@SentientPotatoXIII I think they spent top much time worrying about fan service and Easter eggs to older movies cuz of the 100 year thing. Some of them were subtle enough, others were way too on the nose that it takes you out of whatever story they were trying to tell.

@@anthonyanderson9303 that could be another factor. None of the songs were really memorable imo either, except for the villain song. I know a lot of people don't like it but it was stuck in my head for like a week after I saw the movie 😅

@@SentientPotatoXIII Yea that villain song was stuck in mine too. I think some of the songs are passable, while others are down right awful. That You're a Star song is just...wow that's really bad. I will say I do like the voice of the lead character; I know she's a Broadway performer and I believe she was the girl in West Side Story, you can tell she's talented. Just wish she was given better material.

Know own is saying you can’t like it, people are saying it’s not good which it’s true. There is a difference between likening something and whether something is good or not. Stop playing victim.

@@Cornerback3141, there is a difference between liking a movie and wether is good which is decided objectively and without emotions, you take a look at writing, characters, theme, type of movie and all of that and evaluate it in wether bit passed in these categories. This movie does not, the characters basically had no personalities except a few, it failed on making the villain be the most intimidating and he only turned evil due to the corruption, and more. It isn’t the worst movie, but it’s mediocre at best. Whether you like it is different and foreign of wether it’s good.

Definitely not, it reminds me of nimona, the quick moments and very little detail. (Compared to things like Encanto, turning red had less detail, but it was also way more cartoony and stylised than wish Sofia the 1st rendering style xD

Fairy godmothers are not exactly like genies or wishing stars or wishing wells, they are more like protectors. They do occasionally grant one wish per person but only if the person goes through half a lifetime of struggling in order to prove themselves worthy. It is hinted that Asha will not be directly granting wishes; she will just be using magic to provide support with the impossible parts so that she can help people pursue their dreams as the star helped her but did not directly grant her wish from the beginning. Interestingly, it did grant the goat's wish to talk but that was probably only because this is not something that could be achieved through hard work or any other human means. That incident with the chicken was just an accident; she was not granting anyone's wish as nobody asked for it, she was just trying out the wand. Also, Asha is not the fairy godmother from Cinderella or from any other Disney movie. She is just another fairy godmother. The art book clarified that it was just a nod to the Cinderella fairy; they are not the same character.

I am a fan of him too; he is already one of my favourite Disney villains but I don't agree with him. People only chose to come and live there because of his promises, otherwise they would not have come to live there at all, free house or not, as the price to pay would be too heavy. He advertised his land as the place where wishes come true. He was taking the wishes for safe-keeping as he said. This suggests that he would be either be granting them if people were willing to wait 20-30 years or he would give them back if people asked for them. He never said anything about keeping them for himself (the book Recipe for Adventure says that he was collecting them because they were the only thing that made him happy).Honesty is very important in such pacts, otherwise it is fraud and exploitation. It does not help that he erases the memory of the wish, so people cannot try to work on that wish at all while waiting. Sabino stopped composing music after giving his wish. And in the book "Recipe for Adventure" young Dahlia wanted to wish to be the best cook (she was already excellent, she just wanted to be perfect) but she was worried that if she gave her wish, she would forget about cooking altogether.
