Awesome . You can highlight the bike shield that vdp had while the rest had the wind full in the face . Vdp had 25 sec when he came of de Varenstraat. He didnt get away from Van Aert . Then the photographer came and boem +2sec . Vdp did take time on Van Aert fair and square but the minute more that he took was done in the long stretch of road with the wind in the face where vdp had the shield of race fraudeurs ( press ) . Another show done, well done let the ink flow about how strong their chouchou was and how weak the rest .

I wonder if there's ever been a more alien transformation from middling domestique to best in the world than Chris Froome's crazy ascent in 2011. About to be discarded by Team Sky, finishing 94th in the Tour of Poland, he becomes a world beater a few weeks later at the Vuelta. The rest is history.

P.S. The way Froome became Vuelta 2011 champion was very odd. It's highly unusual for old passport / random tests to be revisited and sanctions to result. Cobo's was. The UCI was extremely opaque about the what, why and when of everything, and how long they'd known.

Theory 4. When Ineos took control the owner made it clear if their was a single doping positive or even if a rider was named dodgy practices he would not just pull sponsorship but totally shutdown the team. Not long after Brailsford moved on and clearly the doping protocals ceased as did the results

Sky was a leader in doping. Now Ineos is outdoped by UAE, Visma, Alpacin, and others. Testosterone patches and blood doping is not enough these days. The other teams can easily sustain 6 watts per kilo in their tempo and Uber doped riders are doing 7 watts per kilo on whatever shit they are on that ineos guys don’t have access to
@backalleycqc47904 ай бұрын
A team will need to get its dopers to 8 watts, where 7 watts is already inhuman. Cycling hasn't been a sport for 50 years, it's why I left it in the late '80s.

I wonder how Gary Imlach feels about working every summer with these doppers... Can't imagine he approves 🤔. They had Marcel Kittle on last summer and it's the first time I've heard him speak etc. I must admit his claim of poor mental ill health as the reason for his sudden withdrawal from cycling seems hard to believe given his personality and genuine high level of self confidence. I seem to recall that Pete Kennaugh cited the same reason as did Tam Demoulan. A coincidence I guess. I do hope that the reason of mental ill health isn't being abused for nefarious reasons and to act as a fig leaf for something rotten.
