Simple, they don't want an entry level hire, they want a mid to senior level hire and pay them entry level wage. It's like putting out a bait, and when the small fish nibbles, you ignore, but when the bass bites you begin to reel

Haha yes indeed, man I was applying for job since last year, until now I haven’t got one. I speak 3 languages, just because I don’t have 2 years experience, man I got refused every time. And one thing I found interesting is the requirements are evolving, I mean i realized that some companies especially the middle and large ones always look for high end candidates but in the end pass the job to someone with network. That makes me feel they are wasting my time.

Doing the same thing right now and still struggling. Founded 2 profitable start-ups at 17 and 20, have a bachelors, and still can’t get an entry level job/interview. Just crazy.

@@independentconsultant I still am, but I am considering going for my MBA as well, because half the jobs I want require that as well. Businesses would prefer you to have more education than actual management and strategy experience lol

Finally a KZfaqr who differentiates a 'Job' from a 'Career'. I am a recent grad and feeling the Post-grad blues since my graduation ceremony. Job hunting and getting interviews has turned me nonchalant and I am trying to find out why. Employers of course don't care about their employee's. Only a few do though but I just want to get a good living to live the lifestyle I desire.

In California it's getting so worse like what happen to me "I regret to inform you that the front desk position at Marriott's .... as been filled as of this afternoon. " email for not having a Master's Degree to work in the front desk that's crazy .......a fucking Master's Degree.....dued the job title said no experience needed Pay Hourly Rate: $18.50 At this point I have to go back to College to get my bachelor's degree and get better connections and leave my town or Burbank if that doesn't work I go do the jet program and move to Japan, sick of this game

The problem is that job boards like LinkedIn and Indeed often make those 3-5 years of experience required fields in the application and reject candidates that don't meet the minimum number of years. The hiring manager doesn't even get to see them, because they were auto-rejected.

Great Video! I have been in the recruiting area for 25+ years and you do a great job of hitting some key issues and how to overcome them. Unfortunately most companies recruiting processes were created by HR individuals - not recruiters. On top of that, they are rarely updated and as you stated, the same mistakes are copied over and over. Thanks for sharing!

Me: can I get this job Interviewer: you need 26years experience,meet our impossible standards, work here 22 hours just get paid 20 dollar Me : all that just for 20 dollars Interviewer : if your lucky Me : why do I need work experience this Mac Donald’s and I am just working here for experience for my dream job if can’t work here for experience where am I supposed work at? Interviewer : you work as intern for 10 years Me : you want me to work for 10 years and not get paid Interviewer :yes Dumbass Me punch’s the boss

I have a master's in biotechnology engineering. In India, ALL entry level R&D jobs need at least one year of experience. It's frustrating :| I thought this problem was only in India. I see this is a worldwide issue :|

It’s also a big issue in Vietnam. Once i got interviewed for an internship position which required full time work load but offered 1/4 of a supposed to be monthly salary, and the interviewer smirked and scorned at me for not having any experience and over-aged to his pov. That bastard should really go to hell lol and that company was also ridiculous for asking such a requirement for an intern 😂

I saw a job posting today that was for entry level software development and they requirement was masters degree or higher… I’m sorry MASTERS OR HIGHER!? imagine having student loan debt from the masters or phd level and applying for entry level pay. Smh

so basically. its a psychological tactic to stop people from applying. also they just take advantage of the fact that there really are some people out there who meet those requirements and are desperate enough to accept entry level pay, probably.

god i only have like 10 years of experience working with photoshop almost 2 with illustrator almost 1 year of web design and i am 32 now and getting depressed at this point .

experience comes in 2 types, example someone says they have 5 years experience, it could mean they have 5 years of experience working and learning diffident areas of the job and have 5 years experience or they could be someone that has been doing the same thing and never learning anything new and hence have been doing 1 years of experience 5 times.

What entry level jobs require 5 years experience? Consulting firms, law firms, engineering firms, investment banks, technology companies all hire entry level people with just an internship straight out of undergrad, and many even pay six figures! These companies show up on college campuses to recruit.

How I apply for jobs: Just do it on my phone and if it has a quick apply button where I can apply on the app and isn't something like a senior position which I'm absolutely not qualified for then I apply lol

So Informative ! Bro could u tell me how to cover a career gap of 3 last years where i had not joined any company after completing internship ? Did some certifications online & helped my family at home..is it enough to say in interview or should i mention some other thing.. I read this on reddit. All you have to do is to say was you were taking care of your older relatives (most people say grandparents, but it's up to you). And then they eventually died. Usually it works for you in ways you can't even imagine. But again, it's up to you.

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Hell, just wait for Universal Basic Income. Then, use that money to start your own business. It'll probably come sooner than later anyway, and when it does, employers won't be so damn picky.
