As a 22 year old Aussie i genuinely hate being apart of Gen Z. I get genuine embarrassment seeing clips of what my generation is like. Im just lucky that majority of the people i personally know are not like this in any way. I'd not talk to them anymore if they were like this. I grew up with minimal internet usage until i was around 16 and it surprises and disgusts me what my generation is like.

I was in the same boat as you I grew up playing outside with my friends and brothers playing backyard cricket or playing video games with them. My parents didn't allow me to have my own phone that I could use without supervision untill I was thirteen. My father gave me one when I was eight to give me the idea of what a phone is like so seeing this generation the way it is has made me feel so out of place like I'm not even in this era of generation but in my parents and grand parents era

I noticed my daughter saying that I was calling her stupid when she made a bad decision and all I did was I asked why arent you thinking through things. I didn't even say the word "stupid." Before me saying that she was insulting me for getting not mad, but disappointed. And she said if I'm calling her stupid that's rude. Here my daughter is gaslighting me when she was the one first throwing insults and she is the one who screwed up. And then I saw a Tik Tok via youtube showing kids in a classroom putting a hulmilating pic of the teacher on the board. The teacher was mad and said why would you make such decisions and a girl admist the class asked if he was calling them stupid and if so that's rude? It seems all Gen Zers are learning this shit in all the schools and trying to trap people in saying the wrong thing even if they are not. It appears Gen Z is learning to do bad things and then turn it on the authority figure. They are professional gaslighters. I guess marriage rates will continue to decrease if people cant learn to take accountability and learn respect to others.

I had the same exact attitude when I was 19. And i'm older than that now and i'm just as lost in life. You'll get there too. I also told him it's funny how you say your generation is different. My generation would say the exact same thing. And the generation before that, and so on and so on. He also tried to tell me how tiktok was the only form of entertainment During the pandemic. When I told him why didn't you just go to a library and read a book. He looked at me very dumbfounded like what's a book? I can only imagine how generation alpha is going to be. I’m a Gen Z and I’m honest to god disappointed and embarrassed at the same time that a good chunk of my generation acts like this. I’ve only had very small access to the internet (my parents set very tight restrictions in place at the time) and was only allowed full internet access when I was 18 (little known to my younger self it was a blessing in disguise). Ngl though I was at one point tempted to tip to the modern days evils (modern day feminist, dark Side of the alphabet community, and a whole lot of others) but thankfully I had parents and a good friend that helps kept me in check when I even started speaking stupid (doesn’t happen much now but it happens here and there) and good role models most certainly helped.

Same, but a different generation. I'm a Gen Z, and I only got my first phone at 13, and my first real laptop at 16. Until then, I only have memories of playing outside with friends, using sticks like swords, making a tree house out of shrubs and large branches from a nearby tree. ... I only got my phone after we moved to the city, and it became a necessity by my family for a sense of security, knowing they could call me or I could call them. The laptop was for High School, and later on for University. Until then? Imagination, common sense, and experience.

No, sorry but Gen-z did this to themselves when they made Social Media more important than anything else. Social media caused EVERY bit of this crap when it gave all the lunatics that used to hide in their mothers basement a platform to spread their crazy. Gen-X has no time for it, Millennials are split down the middle, Gen-Z lives for it, Gen-Alpha is split down the middle so hopefully if the trend follows the next generation will see it end at last.

I'm Gen Z and I agree with this video, tbh some people ruined Pride(I'm Bi) by having so much pronouns ( I believe there are three pronouns He/Him They/Them and She/Her). I also believe we are overly sensitive when it comes to misgendering which annoys me.

You become what ever you were exposed to for the first 7 years of your life because the brain is still maturing. IF you put your kid in front of a TV and let cartoons raise them then your kid will become a Cartoon.

As a late 80s millennial I believe gen z is not a totally lost generation. I always thought millennials were the worst, but I know there are so many in my range that are based. As an optimist I have to believe an entire genration cannot be that vapid, that the worst cannot of your gen represents everyone, the loudest are the most radical and worst reprenstative.

We stable members of Gen Z do exist. But being more stable tends to mean less of a social media presence (or at least, less of a dependence on social media), which makes it easy for the crazy side of our generation to overshadow us.

Can u blame them when even a $30/h jobs cant make a basic comfortable living anymore and for entry level jobs they need 10 years experience just to make $16/h? Im not gen z im 38 and i often feel like just giving up and becoming a forest hermit. There is no point in bothering to participate in the system as a male anymore.

As a Gen X I find Gen Z annoying. I hide it with dry sarcasm to make them wonder if I'm teasing and I like them or if I hate them and don't care if they know it. At work, Gen Z has a higher incidence of entitled people. I actually gave some a verbal smackdown because I was tired of hearing them. I think they needed to hide in a safe space.

@@BobDevV I'm talking about society in general. Laugh it off rather than find offense. There is a world of difference between taking a joke and taking offense. There is also a world of difference between recognizing when to joke and when it is discourteous to elders. It's as if younger people don't recognize social cues, and/or lack the capacity to understand the gravity of a situation, as there are no longer dire consequences, as parents' hands are tied by law when it comes to parental rights in enforcing discipline and instilling a modicum of courtesy.
