The only thing I wish Fidelity would add is the ability to trade fractional shares on the website. I'm mid-40's, but totally a tech geek, so I have no problem using the Fidelity mobile app (which is great, by the way) to trade fractional shares, but when I'm actively researching stocks/funds, I'm on my Mac. I believe the website has mentioned that "to begin with" fractional shares are only available to trade on the mobile app, but I do hope they decide to add that feature on the full website as well.
@bunnymagic3 жыл бұрын
everyon'es pretty much offering fractional shares these days.. FIdelity offers free enrollment, no monthly fees for your Roth IRA and starts u off with an option of FDIC-INSURED UP TO #250K;lower profits w/Stop loss or SPAXX-higher profits but has liquidity but also can set up a stop loss. search up all their accounts to view their selectiv packages I dont advertise.. I'm just a happy customer of theirs. they increased my profit shares fr my employer as well as built my IRA with their free brokers and traders assistance. I know their c.service was 24 hrs. idk bout now bc of covid, which has changed a lot of thngs

so i got inspired to get my s together by Dave Ramsey about 3 years ago, i have 2 years till my house is paid off and i can start investing, but i have no idea what to do in investing so i am watching vid and learning. i understand the concept of a stock, bond, what makes a fund mutual-lots of people pooled together, indexed- many assets pooled together. what i think i need is a vid where you pull up a list of investments like growth stock mutual funds and go over what all the #s in the different coulombs mean and besides the return and length of time how you would choose one or understand that it is bad.

I moved over to Fidelity & has everything you may want -- I really miss the pie feature. The UI is soo messy it needs some serious work, but what they have to offer is far and wide. Analysis tools are extremely good. I think videos and strategies would be useful to get use to Fidelity. The closest you can get is creating pie in pies, is to have separate brokerage accounts with the portfolios set up and auto deposit from an account to them appropriately. -- the problem would be you cannot re-balance across in one go and could rack up transactions.
@ThinkMoneyBenny4 жыл бұрын
Watching fidelity or any of the other big brokerages is where you want your money, especially if starts to become a large amount
@watching44104 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply. Schwab was the other alternative for me. Trying to learn fidelity. I already have a plan of action but executing that plan has been difficult with fidelity UI. I might talk to a member if I could to get it set up. . Schwab is also feature packed, customizable. Had some great analytics too. I might switch over if it comes to it, but I sticked to fidelity because of 0 overdraft fee.
@watching44104 жыл бұрын
Forgot to mention.. I tried RH (love how easy is to trade). (Not for long term/downturn, also very speculative by nature). M1 great long term, shouldn't need large trade windows for that reason. Transferring securities on both are high. TD is best responsive trading platform. Webull special cause has shorting. Possibly low liquidity. I know the other ones but haven't tried them. Schwab/fidelity is best cause have all features you need. (Cause possible fee changes in future, might want trading speculation elsewhere. I'm avoiding doing that.) Fyi: For those who want to day trade.

I like M1 because of their pie, and the M1 borrow feature. That borrow helped me make 5k on a 3k loan. And it came in clutch when I was facing some financial hardship. I dont have to worry about going to a bank or a credit union for loan with high interest rate. I can borrow against my account and pay back at my pace without worrying about huge interest rates. M1 is more than just their single trade window. Yes, the single trade window is ridiculous and poor customer service was why I switched from STASH (cool for beginners but terrible), overall M1 is not bad. I like it. I have M1 and Fidelity. Yes, you can have more than one brokerage account, even more so now with zero fees and commissions - one other reason we all have to be grateful to RH and all these new firms for beginner investors despite their shortcomings.

Hey bro thanks for that fast response. For real. I'm glad I haven't put anything into m1 yet just made the account. But I feel what you mean by how trusted are some of these places. Really glad iv been doing non stop research on all this in my free time which isn't much. Ima check that shit out right now

no doubt bro keep researching. 💯

I’m interested in switching but when talking to fidelity last year if they would be adding fractional shares and no commissions they weren’t very arrogant and said no. They clearly got scared how popular m1 was getting. Side they started offering shortly after. I haven’t switched yet
@ThinkMoneyBenny4 жыл бұрын
Fidelity does so much more than M1, that’s why I left M1

Think Money how did you get you tax info from m1. For example if I contributed 800 to Roth with m1 and had a taxable account,do they immediately send tax info you need Thanks
@ThinkMoneyBenny4 жыл бұрын
They send you the tax info in March

Do you know how to setup asset allocation on Fidelity. I know what funds I want to buy, but trying to figure out how to set up the percentages auto investment.
@ThinkMoneyBenny4 жыл бұрын
You can’t set up auto invest with percentages & asset allocation like M1 Finance. You have to buy everything manually with Fidelity.

I like the Fidelity app. It’s easy to use and easy to navigate through. The Robinhood app is still my favorite though because it’s aesthetically appealing.
