People always tell me bad things about flat feet because I want to be a runner. Didn't know all about this.

My fleet are flat as can be since birth and genetically inherited from my father. Some of my siblings also have flat feet. When I was in elementary school I used to run as fast as the fastest kid. I don't know if it has advantages to swimming but I also won first place in a tournament against my classmates.

Interesting topic. For almost 10 years I was a high school coach with no trainer, so I had to tape a lot of ankles. We had numerous kids who ran sub 11 flat 100m electronic. It was amazing to me, at the time, how many of those guys had flat feet. I just figured it was guys who ran around playing without shoes when they were little. Great vid!

Playing without shoes should make your foot intrinsics stronger, shoes are not some insane God tier of engineering, they are for comfort and fashion.

Might be a silly question, but if your fast having flat feet, would you get slower by using insoles or is it worth it to buy?

I can do 8 sets of 20 seconds sprints, about 100m i think. i have flat feet, been running for a year now, i can also do 6km jog in 25minutes. Its relaxing, both mind and body. My shins used to ache, but now its nothing.

I've always ran with my toes and landed with my toes, so i never had any problem with having flat feet

Hello sir I have duck feet when i walking but i walk everyday with this feet but i never faced pain and i do fast walking with pace of 9 to 11 km/ h Please suggest me should i worry about this ?

Just make sure to keep strengthening your arches/calves and you should be fine.

I have flat feet and typically run on my toes, but my coach tells me to run on the balls of my feet but that causes more pain and I get shin splints should I just keep running on my toes?

It's a good video but the flat feet should be demonstrated using a flat running surface as opposed to this type of curved treadmill floor.

If you run on you r toes to much you’ll get turf toe. Btw I wouldn’t recommend that

The slower you run the more you have to run midfoot (feet should touch the ground directly beneath you and not in front).. The faster you run the more you are on your toes (sprinting or running any "race")...

Does high arches have any specific benefits in sprinting Cause I have them in both my feet and their high and I'm from Jamaica 🇯🇲🇯🇲 doing sprinting ??

I would say high arches can help in being stable during the landing but you have to be very aware of where you strike the ground with your foot when sprinting.. You can very easily be too much on the outside part of the foot.

Maybe the issue of understanding this would that the fastest runners have flat feed not thanks but in spite of having flat feet because of constantly training underneath muscles that make fingers grabbing the ground and wearing tight shoes that form flat feet. Maybe if they had nor issues they would be faster and better?

Would be impossible to know but the reality is a lot of people who are elite sprinters are also flat footed..

With flat feet you may be more at risk for injuries such as plantar fasciitis

it's definitely negative when you standing still but with science anything can have negative and positive, and maybe because of how standing still works: the the pressure focus on one spot which is the middle of the foot, example like when you drop a rubber ball on a ruler with paper, if the pressure is constant on that one spot, the ruler would fall down. so same concept would apply here, the pressure with the flat footed while they running is not concentrated on one spot thus they have more benefits than the people with arches, but the cons is they cannot stand still without feeling the sore pain they experience in the middle after a min or so.

yeah cause alot of blacks have high calf insertions like myself which has something to do with flat feet apparently

Just walk 2000-5000 steps barefoot inside your house, on a treadmill or in a park or honestly anywhere you want. Should be enough. Tried it, works.

That would be perfect! Because people with flat foot punch is more harder than people who has a normal feet. My coach is MMA fighter and he told me that. Sometimes i proud of my flat foot because i love Martial arts😁

That is just because you have not properly trained the feet to work properly with them being flat. If you try to run like someone with normal arches then you are not going to succeed.

Not a silly question.. I would say it depends on your running style. It could potentially help with the deceleration but it also could put you a little more at risk for foot/achilles pain
