you cannot compare 1st season with current one. Football season shorter and there was hype around iconic player. I think ISL is maturing as a football league, quality of football is getting better day by day. We should not invest that much amount of money for buying only player, we must rather invest that money for creating better ecosystem.

Tickets prices also have increased 3 folds. BFC 's I - league days, the ticket prices was around Re 200-300 which even students can afford. One can buy 3-4 tickets for friends too. Now it's around 900/-. Tough for students to spend that much for single game.

One more reason could be when ISL started in 2014 it was just a 2 months long league. Today it's 5-6 Months long league. Although teams have increased but it will take some time for fan popularity to stabilize. 2 Things AIFF along with ISL organizers including Reliance Groups, Hero & Startsports India can think about doing. As teams are projected to increase to 16 by 2026 & the season duration is expected to increase to around 8 months. To ensure season doesn't become an endless kind of tournament, Friday, Saturday & Sunday might be the way ahead by hosting matches at a reasonable time. By reasonable time I mean matches should end by 9:00 PM max since many people don't feel safe traveling at night & hence prefer to watch it on TV or Mobile. 3 different timings can be explored which will allow ISL to host 5 matches per weekend (once the teams increase) ensuring it doesn't become an endless tournament: 1. Friday: 6 PM 2. Saturday: 3 PM & 6 PM 3. Sunday: 12 PM, 3 PM & 6 PM Secondly, i agree AIFF & FSDL need to focus on undertaking more Community building initiatives. Having youth teams to some extent would help. Maybe IPL & ISL can collaborate here in helping promote each other and undertaking joint community engagement. It will help ISL much more though since IPL has achieved kind of stability now & it's looking forward to further expansion. In the past cricketers have come to watch ISL games. Cricketers including Virat, Dhoni, Sachin, Sourav can help increase popularity of sport. Bollywood, Tollywood and Regional Superstarts can be asked to promote their teams & come to the stadium to watch even if it's just 1-2 games.

NEUFC's low attendance is largely due to the management mishandling everything, distancing and disrespecting fans and also the poor play and results, not because of longer season. Also, stacking all players in one or two clubs has also decreased the competition, earlier there used to be uncertainty on which team would top the league, every team could do it if they played well, now you can tell that MCFC, ATKMB and HFC will be in the top 3 out of the 4.

The Reason why Kerala Blasters attendance average is reduced is due to the reduction in Total capacity , before Under 17 World Cup it had total of 60k , currently it's got reduced & plus also due to the influence of safety measures & top tier seats from Season 5 aren't available for sale because of all these it's current capacity is 35K at max allotted for ISL....

One more factor to be added here according to me is the viewing angle, being from assam i have been and seen heavy crowd watching our local football matches where we see the game and the players from the closet distance possible so it keeps us engaging into the game, but as soon as i go to stadium i have to watch from a far more distance because most of the stadiums where isl is held are not proper stadiums, mostly they are athletic stadium where there comes a barrier of the track between the game and the audience

In my experience for an Indian audience to celebrate anything it must get international recognition. Eg: Indians celebrated cricket only after historical winning of 1983 world cup. Indians celebrated gusthi after the winning for past 20 years. Javelin throw got recognition after Neeraj Chopra victory. Etc etc etc Feel so sad after any celebrity other than football are celebrated in the football match during halftime and after match. Kerala,Bengal, Goa has good football culture and others are not interested in it. We have to build our Football culture.

Dhanraj bhai! I appreciate your commitment in making videos on Indian football. One reason for poor fan engagement is also the unprofessional and selfish attitudes of state football associations. State associations and the ISL clubs need to work togather and reach out to people. I run a football club in Hyderabad and I wrote to HFC requesting for free tickets for my students to come and watch. There was no response from them. People and clubs should stop feeling insecure and work for the larger goal of developing Indian football. I am optimistic that things will get better if all football stake holders work togather

I have been to 4 MCFC Home Games this season and every time the stadium was full.

What i have experienced is earlier there were a lot of complimentary tickets given to the fans ,so majority of them went to see the match because it was free. Now its really difficult to get free tickets.This was about why people dont turn up to stadiums whereas about the popularity I think people do watch mostly on ott and tv but yeah it still needs to improve a lot

Running with the ball towards the corner line and then a direct chip ball for header , a long range shhot from distance which is like a sixer . These things are happening for last few years. ISL teams need to make signing from countries that have a very high talent, like Brazil and Uruguay...or some African countries like Egypt or Senegal, if we can't sign from Europe, also we need to bring in more youth talent.....have proper training sessions....increase our power and stamina, improve in our technique and style of playing, but most important of all bring in good referees. We could follow same roadmap as MLS did....it has improved drastically in few years.

One of the main revenue of a club is gate pass after telecast. Club should bring popular / star players to enhance the revenue.

Main reason is the awful stadiums with marathon tracks. We need proper football stadiums with Wi-Fi connectivity and USB charging ports. Next our players need a good pitch to play on. Lastly, bring back marquee signing system and limit the homegrown player number to 2 from starting lineups.

1. Lack of promotions as compare to other sports , 2. Teams should have at least 1 to 2 local players in the team to emotionally connect people. I am a fan of Odisha FC and Odisha FC is not playing any Odisha's player in 11 , that may be a reason also , not playing your local player in the team . Not juz in big cities( lyk mumbai/ kolkata etc only) BUT hosting it in different parts of our states evry year n make it Big n Grand with good prize money etc...The final 2 contenders frm each state can travel to participate in the Tournament whrever it is being held in India n provide necessary benefits to the team by their respective school/college/state etc for travel...That way there will be lots of passion among school/college children n youngsters in our country n wanting to perform n become winners for their respective school/college etc n also there will be supporters from their own school/ college/ Teachers/ family/ relatives too.. And there must be a Selection committee to keep Track n record of those young players who r Good n skilful n provide necessary scholarship n training for them once selected...The Tournament should be held Big in different states northeast, South, North, west etc in rotation evry year so that People of that particular state make business too from outsiders, tourists etc n get people Engaged..
