I think in the end the super league will happen with or without the English teams as teams on the continent are seeking to increase their revenue and a league with Madrid, Juve, PSG, Ac Milam Atletico, Rangers, Celtic, Bayern, Inter, Ajax, Borussia has the potential to grow to compete with the PL. Just my thoughts...

Whether The Super League is a solution or not, it's definitely a symptom of UEFA's shortcomings when it comes to dealing with the likes of Roma & Milan, compared to the likes of City and PSG. I honestly feel indifferent about the super league this time because the Premier League can be considered a mini version of a super league because they are able to spend a lot of money on players because of the money they have been able to generate through TV deals or other avenues along with PSG meanwhile UEFA is punishing clubs like Milan for FFP.

Loving these analytical videos. The serie a was like the EPL during the 90's but we didn't see man utd getting outbid by saleritana/Genoa while we had to compete with Bournemouth, Leeds for signing players.

Shamrock Rovers fan here from Ireland, really enjoyed the video, the points here are really valid, UEFA ruined European Football, the fact we have to go through 4 rounds to qualify for the Champions League while being Champions in our own domestic league while a 4th placed team in some of the top leagues go in automatically is wrong, it wasn't always like this! If the Super League could make more fair and equal pathways for clubs from the smaller Leagues to compete and still keep it lucrative in the lower divisions, I probably wouldn't be totally against it, without money from European Football Irish football struggles to grow and develop so if more money can come into our leagues that way and help us develop I don't think I can be totally against it to be honest!

I don’t think it will though, the uefa penalties are gonna be too harsh and the importance kinda diminishes without the PL

Every premier league ONLY HAS 2-3 clubs that have a chance to win the title at the end of season. EPL has 5 teams. And that’s IT. I think that the European Super League should be 20 teams and perhaps another European “pro league” should be established (another 20 team league) call it “Europa League.” At the end of the season when both CHAMPIONS are determined, let them play 2 Legs. Like the American and National leagues of American baseball.

I support Scottish football. I think the Scottish sides should join the European Super League. I.woukd love to see Gkaagow Celtic, Glasgow Rangers, Aberdeen, Hibs Hearts and Dundee United in an ESL strucutre. My idea would be two hierarchical divisions od tweny. I think some of the structural issues within some of Europe's major leagues need sorting out and have a real look at their problems within themselves. Outside the top clubs within Spain, Italy and France the product is not so good. Many teams in europe do not own their own grounds. The infrastructure suffer and that is bad in terms of television. Fans are not attracted to watch the product live. In some countries there is a limited 'away' fan culture so the atmosphere in some grounds isn't great especially at the lower end clubs. All this is important for television companies - they look at the package as a whole. They want the 'bread and circus' that comes with the premier league - doesn't mean the football is better technically but the drama, heritage and storytelling is built in. Football infrastructure surrounding the premier league is massive - sports channels 24/7, fan blogs, club websites, social media, fantasy football all come with the premier league. The English language is also important regardless what you think of Britain. US market is massive for the premier league and because of historical connections - the premier league is massive is east Asia and Oceania. Also there is the issue of racism in some countries where black players are abused within the ground. England is no means perfect and there is a lot of work but the days of throwing bananas onto the pitch, calling players monkeys are thankfully very, very rare. Again not good for television.

To fine them and, if applicable, ban them from European competitions, putting them in a worse financial position them previously.

agree that that theres a huge problem with EPL dominating, like the stat you shared about EPL garnering roughly 10x amount of international tv revenue comapred to serie a. its clear there needs to be changes to the system. however, i think the super league is a horrible alternative and completely antithetical to the principles of every team being able to compete. like the current system allows potentially thousands of different teams to compete in the Champions League, based on merit and performance. Although a great improvement, new system allows only 60-80, and 14 games guaranteed is kind of ridiculous in a already jam packed schedule. Domestic Leagues wont matter much anymore. You should really have made a deep dive into this. If you had, you would know that most of the biggest clubs are heavily in debt. THAT is the issue football is facing. Clubs spending money they don't even have just to stay on top and UEFA let's them get away with it. Guess what the Super League would do. The same thing. It wouldn't be the slightest change. They talk like politicians. Promise you this, and offers this. Talks about change. Presents their so called plan. But you can bet that even with the Super League the things would still be the same. The biggest clubs will get the most revenue. The biggest clubs will be allowed to spend money they don't have to bring in the best players. So even with the Super League we'd still be where we left off. Same place. Different name. You can't fix a broken system by changing the name of a league when it's the same thing as before just with a new name.

Cant respect a man who wears a bandana at that age. UEFA will not allow this to happen. You're replacing one cartel with another ran by clubs or three clubs essentially. One with the board missing under criminal investigation, one with over billion euros in debt and another who we forget inflated the transfer market originally in the early 2000s. Football moves in cycles. We've had a period of dominance from La Liga clubs and their time will come again. The whole Jan transfer market was massively distorted by one club: Chelsea. Trying to be clever for their own good. It will back fire on them.
