Remember that imperfect first form cell was easily beating both android 17 and piccolo, the latter who fused with kami giving him a tremendous boost and making him comparable if not stronger than ssj goku and vegeta at the time.

@@lapplandkun9273 "Ascended" is just another word for ssj it's not a level of ssj. And mastering ssj means that you have the capability to become ssj and remain ssj almost effortlessly(meaning you are not physically under a whole lot of stress) it doesn't increase your power. Vegeita became stronger than Cell because he trained for a year and became 4 time as strong (probobly meaning his power level) as he was before.

I agree insofar as coolness goes, but (and I know GT isn't canon) when we saw Adult Trunks in GT becoming the next owner of capsule corp, I got a bit misty eyed. Seriously, that sight meant that Future Trunks succeeded and made the timeline into a much better one, where his past self could grow up to be whatever he wanted to be, not what the world needed him to be.

This is true.. most people never give Goku any credit. Goku was responsible for training Gohan to be stronger than himself. Goku was also responsible for pushing Gohan passed his fear to beat Super Perfect Cell. Goku is Gohan’s strength in times of need. Time & time again.

Still it’s always Gohan, he is able to gain power through his emotions and not from training. He still is Gohan, which is established being the warrior with most potential. The rage of couldn’t save his friends could’ve make him snap so long ago that 13 years just doesn’t make sense. Gohan ‘s potential is being shown from when he was a kid in the saiyan saga, which means all Gohans from all timelines have exactly the same way to gain power and potential. Which means the future Gohan story doesn’t make any sense like I said before.

I can answer some of these: King Kai didn't call any one bc it's an earth threat not a universe threat, Vegeta had a son why would he leave, as for the timeline it work in a multiverse theory so when trunks went back in time and save Goku he created an alternate timeline. So he can travel to and from his timeline and the one he changed. As for the berrus and the god thing, he should have shown up to fight gohan but I think he didn't come bc he didn't have any feats bc remember whis told berrus of Goku's feats then he came. And zeno not erasing the other universes in the future is a plothole.

Why would the androids kill the z fighters to begin with if they let them live in the present (they wouldn't have known goku is dead)? Without a doubt I think if the future timeline was written with more logic i don't see how the androids could've won either. There were too many factors and ways that the z fighters should've been the winners

Again I think King Kai didn't contact them bc it was an earth threat not universal like the saiyans and frieza. And the Androids had to kill the Z fighters bc they were going to keep getting in there way. Also the Androids in the future were alot more aggressive and violent, than their present counter parts

There’s a difference between fighting and training, sure his survival instinct and timing would be good, but with no partner it’s hard to develop new techniques an counter measures, also no mentor to impart wisdom .

@Jason Collins Um in his normal state Gohan was 50 weaker than ssj so of course he would have taken an L. Supposedly Dabura was as strong as perfect cell and Gohan was strong enough to beat him as a ssj, yet Gohan couldn't beat dabura as a ssj2.

The Cell jrs were toying with the humans, they never stood a chance. Only Piccolo, Vegeta & Trunks could hold their own against them. Goku was still exhausted from his fight with Cell so he was doomed.

Very true. I mean look at Goku and Vegeta for example. They had gravity based training and healing chambers, zenkai boosts and all that stuff to give em a boost and that even took time. Training without that would take them years to get stronger unless they had powerful partners to help them. Sadly Future Gohan did not. I'm sure Gohan was never near death with the androids. He seems like the kinda guy who would escape to fight another day if things were getting bad as he needed to stay alive (and with knowing trunks can have great potential being Vegetas son and all which he could later train to assist) Yeah he got better but it wasn't enough. The androids were already stronger than Super Saiyan Vegeta. Took em out In one shot.

Besides, if need is a requirement, why didn't F. Trunks achieve it prior to Gohan's death? If anything He needed it the most to help Gohan end the Androids.

Goku is a liar in that respect. He became an ssj3 without any possible need while training in otherworld.

I think SSJ4 would only be useful for stacking god ki and attaining Super Saiyan God 4, basically super saiyan blue but with SSJ4 instead of SSJ, because SSJ4 transforms the body to handle the massive power better meaning it should be as easily sustainable as Super Saiyan Blue

Interesting theory my theory is that zenkais follow a diminishing returns system where as you get more they get less and less powerful it's why for example vegeta was able to go from Frieza solider level to zarbon because of the zenkais he got from Saiyan saga but that was his big huge zenkai boost and after that he got less and less strong from them it's why he didn't get such a huge increase from getting horribly injured by krillin and was still much weaker than freeza there isn't necessary a limit simply you don't get as much strength as you abuse them

Maybe there'd be no Golden Frieza? He'd likely still become a huge threat - probably harvest a bunch of other planets to build his strength before attacking Earth or Namek since he's been burned before - but he'd be so much below SSB Goku or Vegeta that it wouldn't be that interesting. Unless we're going by the manga, where SSB's power is explosive before dropping off and is massively weaker with each successive use, in which case he could wear the duo down by throwing an army of metal bodies at them before capturing and torturing them. Would give the rest of the cast a chance to shine, which would be interesting.

He is weaker because Goku isn't there, but it isn't because he didn't master ssj, all that does is regulate the power loss while being a ssj by acclimating your body to the stress of being a ssj. What he lacked was a strong training partner. Fighting a ssj like goku while being in his base form would increase the strength of his base form significantly, leading to a much stronger ssj form for Gohan.

Hell, present Gohan doesn't even have that skill. Every time he's grown it's because someone else has given it to him on a silver platter, and whenever he's been the most powerful he's immediately regressed.

Goku and Piccolo tailor made a training routine for him, and it still took him multiple years to progress to that level. And he immediately regressed after fighting cell. I mean actually alone. Like when Goku was dead or just after the buu arc. He always regressed, and when he started training again he needed to call Piccolo who was an actual master. Because he's never grown his power on his own. Piccolo as a kid, then the Namekian Grand Elder with a power up, then Goku and Piccolo, then Goku in the RoSaT. And then when he was the strongest and without a teacher he immediately regressed. And then he got a power up that was handed to him by elder Kai. Then he regressed. Then piccolo trained him. He isn't a prodigy in any way other than rapidly gaining power. He's not an artist, he can't grow and develop himself. And even then, his rapid growth showings are less than other feats seen like Goku and Vegeta on Namek, Goku in the ToP and Broly in the latest movie.
