n 1993, Bill and Melinda Gates-then engaged-took a walk on a beach in Zanzibar, and made a bold decision on how they would make sure that their wealth from Microsoft went back into society. In a conversation with Chris Anderson, the couple talks about their work at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, as well as about their marriage, their children, their failures and the satisfaction of giving most of their wealth away.

To Billgates, And to anyone concerned about India I visited India last week and I saw big problems in India, especially the two states Uttar Prades and Bihar - begging and Dirtiness - that’s why no foreign tourists go there to visit the holy Buddist places like Sarnat, Lumbini , Kushinagar and Bodhgaya . he stared at his mother, sorry, wife, because she is the men in this relationship, and he didn't want to say anything stupid. He was like little child with his mama, rather than grown up men with his partner. That the truth about bIG Bill, he can rule the world, but still be, and feel, and behave, like little boy when with his fully grown up partner. Its just so sad. But that's problem that many men suffer. Sad, sad, sad.

Its just my theory, kind of summary of what I have seen, based on few observations, and I'm not trying to be right on this, and prove to be right. He look kind of strange in this video, seem not so confident, not so secure. He waited for her to say, he seem to waited when he can speak, or waiting for moment when he is suppose to say it. He seem to say what she wanted. Kind of unnatural when he laugh of what she said. She was helping him to say something, she was explaining him, his approach to this topic. I have never seen him so "small", and in this video he is with his wife, so based on his behavior and circumstances, and on knowledge about him (what and especially how he work, his interests and knowledge and interpretation of this knowledge), his behavior on different situations, obvious, and seem reasonable (for me) explanation that came to my mind was the one I wrote.
@artk6017
@artk6017 7 жыл бұрын
Two angle simply said are those: he is using his human-level-brain neocortex, and she is not, she is only capable at animal-level-brain. Because she is less capable creating real things, she uses what she is capable of, that is socio-emotional level of relations with people. He is concentrated on much more sophisticated things than just plain emotions. When you concentrate on such narrow field you probably will lack skills with simple one. He doesn't have to rely on relations to make money, but she has to, to have money.
@artk6017

I'm technical guy, so no psych-socio scientific language. And sorry Norm, I don't agree with you on this one "he was avoiding Chris' gaze". Watching him on other videos I didn't seen him behaving like that, but for me is quite obvious that this talk, with his wife, public, makes him feel like that - uncomfortable. He seem to realize his deficiencies in relation to her, so being public I think amplify his unconfortable-ness in this situation (that's my hypothesis)

I see people are beyond understanding anything these days. They sell you anything and people just buys it. Melinda says here “he does not take too much time off”. That is a lie he takes lots of time off. One day he is California and the next day he is South America he can easily take time off with a private jet waiting for him. Second, we know he had plenty of time off and hang out with Jeffrey Epstein many times. Again these interviews are just set up interviews to make them look like such a nice couple.

When woman at her age with that much wealth with Bill and want to divorce that meant she is really not happy with this marriage and want to call it off. She wants to go on and live her own happy life than being with him. Clearly they just don't want to be together anymore. From the outside world we don't know anything about their private lives. 12:15 host asked " so what is the argument, what do you guys argue about? " Answers - both of them shy away and didn't really answer the question and circled around ... Bill didn't answer the question, Melinda only said well we meet half way ... bla bla bla..... like they completely ignored that question... so... you see, we never really know how they really think. They only tell us what we want to hear or what they think what the public want to hear. But hey divorce is never easy, plus they are not evil people, so I hope they will be happy either way, married or not married, be happy since you got all the wealth in the world you can do so much individually.

Bill Gates discovered that the greatest meaning of life is knowing that your time on this planet is short and although you could be a billionaire, your money won´t avoid you to die eventually, so, he intends to give up all his fortune by the end of his life helping people all around the world, doing his part, his contribution. He is giving back what the world gave to him. Eventually, he will die as a poor man, from dust to dust, but he will be extremely happy to have had a brilliant life. The 1% of the wealthy who own 99% of our lives is the cause for the diseases . They ate not looking at the truth of what happened. The bankers greed and addiction to power and wealth is the cause. Not the poverty that is a mere symptom of that greed and addiction to power and money. .

***** That education system that they are funding in the U.S is horrible. It's called common core is horrible, and is trying to just make education a more robotic experience and erase any creativity involved in public schooling. I will agree that the idea of educating is great and a philanthropic cause in education is a great cause, but for undeveloped countries, where education is the main barrier preventing them from understanding such things as disease, treatment, and the choices that they make and the impacts of those choice on their lives. Look we can look at the computer right now and say it is a great thing, there's another crowd that will disagree, and only a future that will have it's final judgement, nothing is really known until it has come to pass.

Because when people read this on Google: According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Gates was the world's highest-earning billionaire in 2013, as his fortune increased by US$15.8 billion to US$78.5 billion. And then you hear him talking about doing charitable work while he can solve entire problems from its roots, and then you find these data online: poverty rate is 14.5%, meaning 45.3 million people in the US live in poverty and this is his own country, you think there might be something wrong with his speech... No one has the right to say or to force him to give away his wealth as it is his wealth and he has the right to spend it as he wants... but there must be some kind of international regulations to limit someone's wealth and distribute the remaining either by him or by the government to do some actual beneficial environmental or medical or charitable or ... or... projects.. And that limit should be a fair limitation not to be exceeded by any human being for fair wealth distribution, as there are 1810 billionaires around the world with 6.5 trillion $ of net worth. Anyway, that is my opinion...

I wondered why suddenly there were vaccines being given to children door to door. I actually was suspicious of what was happening because my child had been vaccinated every step of the way,but as I listen to Bill and Melinda,I realise that their giving has reached the very roots of the community where I come from in Kenya. It is amazing that my friends who we were studying with could walk into a hospital after we are from college and take a jab to prevent them from getting pregnant before they go to their husbands made me realise that Bill and Melinda have given and have changed alot of lives in our rural areas. I hear women say at my village that now they have a sense of control in their houses and no matter what,they can space their children. Being a single proffesional woman has made me be naive to what has been going on around me.but listening to this talk and connecting it to the conversations I have had with women and children around me has made me know that you have touched millions and millions of women because of your giving. Th-232 can be used in Gen 4 reactors to provide cheap clean electricity, desalinated sea water, synthetic fuels for transportation, priceless medical isotopes, and surely a host of other applications we can't even think of at this time ;) Indeed, thorium reactors can be used to power the #1 source of diesel fuel combustion - large ocean liners, cruise ships and other non-military vessels. The vastly increased safety margin, superb stability, modular flexibility and lack of weapons-grade material makes thorium molten salt reactors promising technology to reduce greenhouse gases in electricity production, industrial processes and even transportation !

Thank you Bill & Melinda, for having invested so much of your wealth, resources, time and energy on matters which affects and afflicts humanity so much significantly and yet unimportant to others. That's the distinct value of wealth generation, appreciating in its intrinsic value, fortunately falling into the hands of leaders of benevolence like you and your foundation's members and contributors, that humanity should give our due recognition, encouragement and appreciation. These are the quality of leaders, citizens of the world, should elect into office of authority, so that the resources of the world are optimally utilised for sustaining the betterment of the livings, thus creating a new world order as in realising a "One World One Dream" community under the auspices of a reintroduced United Nations with universal executive, legislative and judicial authority. It's certainly a noble revolutionary idea worthy of our undivided loyalty and passion in pushing through to saving planet Earth for the livings to thrive happily ever after. That's the most welcomed future of the "Internet Age" borderless world in the making, which is exciting and positively unavoidable. Together, we can make it a reality. Cheers!!!

Wake up Nigerian brother. He's an eugenicist. He blamed the human population for Global Warming and wants to depopulate human. Incredible life of an incredible person. The only one - Mr. Gates. It is not about his wealth but about his life work at Mircosoft as the programmer and later as a philanthropist. If I am given 2 choices by God, to re-live Albert Einstein's life or re-live Bill's life, I would choose Bill's life. It is not about his wealth but his incredible life.

@NoWomanNoCry Why are you so skeptical of Gates's work? Do you really think all the wealthy people are soulless psychopaths lurking for other people's lives? If so then they would have to be inhuman - almost demons. But here we have two people, wise, with incredible wealth trying to do the best they can to improve other people's lives by redistributing their wealth back to them. They're doing an amazing job! And they inspire their friends to follow their footsteps. Do you have any better idea of how they should contribute to the world?

Very wise but I think initially it is important to feel very well taken care of through financial and material needs- spoken from an adult who has healed emotionally which in my opinion is unprecedented as everyone else is dead or on the streets and lack the ability to accept any guidance. In light of- it is important that they not be aware of the influence money can have over grown adults that no child is equipped to deal with-as it is bigger than self for such a young and inexperienced person. I have also experienced the pitfalls that extreme wealth can due to a person and the hurendous effect it is able to create by and through inexperience greed and a lack of guidance and wisdom. A child should always have the room to grow and hit each mile stone and earn and make mistakes and learn from them; they are clearly well aware of this and I approve this message. Maybe keep a couple million back for them once they hit 39? I haven't that kind of money now but that is what I would do- opinions are best given from one at times that have lived on both sides of the fence. Money is nice when you're a griwn adult and understand it as these folks do. I learned a hard lesson young how mishandled money is able to corrupt a young innocent soul and perhaps even to the point of guilt and torment. I am happier now in a shack than where I was emotionally with it. Good job!

Of course, there are better ways to contribute to the world and what they do is actually a fucked up one which, as I look now, might truly leed to nothing less than a new world order - which is a terrible perspective. I'll leave my previous post so others who will read will not get confused. Let's hope the universe will screw those motherfuckers up. Take care guys!
