the reason why is that aba is such a beligerent character with insane hitboxes that are also disjointed a lot of the time, she will win every trade she will bully you and when she lands a hit you will die and a competent aba player wont have issues with managing the moroha mode especially because entering goku moroha resets her life and moroha gauge i like aba tho, her character design is amazing but she is scary fr

Some input from a certified ABA hater (even though Faust wins the matchup): - I can't believe you didn't mention her unblockable flip kick. She can use her 25-meter projectile with an FRC to set it up and make it very hard to escape - basically only Dead Angle or Burst will let you think about escaping. - Every ABA player has the same round start flowchart: slide > keygrab to beat your poke, raw keygrab to whiff punish your poke that would hit the slide, or airdash backwards and use a blood pack. It's just not very stimulating to do or play against. - You touched on Moroha mode 2H for being active, plus, and throw invincible, but it also has barely any pushback. ABA can literally do the move into itself 4 times before being FD'd out, and it'll take most of your meter to push her away. - Her damage output is absolutely insane in both regular Moroha and GMoroha mode. It's not uncommon for ABA to do a single combo that for at least 60-70% from a single counter hit. - GMoroha mode super is plus on block, and the hitbox is a giant red aura around ABA. It's completely impossible to interact with. - Danzai, the armored two-hit uppercut swing, is extremely hard to punish for no real reason. It is practically a safe DP, and the 25-meter version has infinite guard points on the upswing (though it can only be done in GMoroha mode, which is a small mercy). - The penalty for getting knocked down in Moroha mode only applies when she recovers from a knockdown, so she can spend her burst while on the ground to ignore it. This is probably not that offensive in the grand scheme of things but it is pretty obnoxious because the ABA player will ALWAYS burst if standing up would force Moroha mode to end. In summary, she's a super duper flowchart character that practically plays herself half the time but is still hard to interact with even if you know what she wants to do.

She looks great in Strive and is a perfect fit for the type of game Strive is imo. Will definitely be trying her out. But the main reasons people hate fighting ABA is that she has extremely wonky hurtboxes which make combos drop very easily unless you have ABA-specific combo routes and her wakeup timing is extremely different (like, 1/3 longer) from most characters so you have to have ABA-specific oki too. Both those things together are *incredibly* annoying. It doesn't really have to do with her actual kit.

It's because there are only three potential matches with aba is either can't get keygrab and she gets wrecked, she gets keygrab wrecks her opponent, or she gets started fumbles a block string and eats anything into sweep into instant kill activation into instant kill as a true combo.

@@thewazzockplonker8540 they are the same moves as before, but you lost the blood packs that give you a free stance change. She has a defensive option now that charges her stance gauge. But looking only at her normal stance, she seems harder than before, unless you already start with some gauge.

We'll see as they give more info, but the new version looks less gimmicky, but also more of a rhythm to the in and out of her abilities. And no super ex version, so less "round for round god mode." It'll be interesting to see how this pans out at least.
