The first run PRS Tremonti is seeing a resurgence in interest. Is it the Creed reunion or is there something more going on. Something which may call into question the inter generational divide we believe in between Boomers, Gen X and Millennials

This reminds me of the chance I had to grab one these with emgs and upgraded tuners for super cheap and I passed it up. I never saw one that cheap again and I should’ve pounced

Hi @Ministry of Guitar, do you think the SE version is also having an increase of demand? Mine is the SE version, 2003 MIK, with the doted inlays. As it does not have the traditional bird inlays I think it is more likely for the buyer to look into other versions, although this is a really great guitar. Thanks and just want to share that I like your content so keep up the great work.

Thanks. I think in general most MIK SE prices will rise in the long run as they are incredibly high quality for the money and similar quality new guitars are very expensive nowadays. Being the tremonti version can only help.

Cool, I’ve got the Mark Tremonti PRS SE ❤ (By the way I had no idea who he was when I bought it and I’ve still never listened to his music to this day). Doubt its doubled in value since I bought it in 2003 but doesn’t matter, I’m not selling it!!

Enjoyed this little chat . . . you cover a few things but, specifically, on 'collectibles', 'iconic guitars' & 'value appreciation' I can throw in a few thoughts. I grew up in the '60s, I still have all my original Beatles Singles - and the guitarists I was watching and listening to mostly seemed to be playing Les Pauls & Strats, so when I got around to buying my first 'proper electric' in 1974 as our band was on the verge of going pro, it was a 2nd hand 1968 Les Paul Custom that cost me USD 500 at the time. A few years later I was asked by Roland NZ to demo their new GR300 / 303 Guitar Synth which came with 2 guitar controllers and the one I chose to keep was the blue Strat built by FGN (who Fender took on to make their Japanese Fenders a few years later). So - done! Needless to say my Custom is now worth around 30 - 40 times what I paid for it, the Roland . . . not so sure but I know Steve Vai is out there looking for any spare GR 300 synths to incorporate into the new BEAT band with Adrian Belew! Skip forward to the last 3 or 4 years and I have a renewed interest in adding to my collection, probably due to covid and tuning in to various YT channels. I noticed Epiphone were getting busy and checked out stock here in HK - I ended up buying the Cantrell Wino because I need a solid LP that I can take out of the studio and the ebony fretboard is great and so is the colour! I should mention that I had never heard of Jerry Cantrell and, similarly, never heard of Tremonti until I spotted the PRS SE and saw some reviews and I'll buy one of them at some point to mod with Bare Knuckles etc. because I like the idea of an LP with a low-key style Trem (not a fan of Bigsbys or Duesenbergs altho I have a few). I have also recently discovered Johnny Marr (via his appearance on a few tracks on Liam Gallaghers recent 'Council Skies') and after checking out The Smiths I like his playing I like a lot, so I'm keen to try some Jaguars, maybe even his Artist Model if it is significantly better than the standard line. So - along with Cantrell, Tremonti, Alex Rush, Adam Jones et all it's pretty clear that there are still players who are enough of an influence on a newer generation (than those like me who were influenced by Harrison, Clapton, Page, Peter Green, Fripp, Hackett et al) that newer 'tailored artist' guitars will always find an audience with. You are quite right in saying it's not a 'generational thing' this urge to own a guitar that one of your heroes championed . . . none of us are immune 😅 Re: 'value' - good for you with the Tremonti original and I don't doubt there will be others - for me, I'm turning my attention to Eastman SB59/v models - I predict that in a couple of decades they will be unicorns on a par with '59 Gibson LP Standards!

Thank you for sharing sir. I had a very good time reading your comment. I do highly recommend you check out the singlecut with a six point trem. It adds a dimension one really appreciates

The casinos in downtown Las Vegas sponsor free concerts, and the bands change over the years. I saw Alien Ant Farm two months ago, because the people that liked them in the 90's now have the disposable income to go to Vegas.

I’ve seen several Tremonti’s for sale at no more than 2500usd. The price hasn’t really gone through the roof

yeah i remember seeing quite a few at 2500 about a year or so back. Hence my surprise. Haven't seen any recently though but of course I am not actively monitoring

What you’re missing here is that what he’s talking about is the first generation of the Tremonti model. PRS Tremonti’s are still in production today, and the current production models haven’t jumped in price at all that I’ve noticed. The gen 1 Tremonti is becoming more desirable now since it is the guitar he used with Creed. It features the Mark Tremonti inlay on the 12th fret (today’s models have the typical 12th fret bird) and has a thicker neck profile than the today’s model. There’s also not a ton of them out there because I believe they were only made from ‘01 to ‘03. For a die hard Tremonti fan (like myself) it’s a must-have guitar. Hopefully the price doesn’t climb too high before I graduate college and actually have the money to get one.

I always prefered more plain black or plain white PRS guitars with binding . I feel bored with typical "expensive" look , no matter what colors day are...

I think there are a few, not more than three guitars that become vintage. Maybe alone from P.R.S. 🙏
