Husqvarna should have spent just $10-$15 dollars more in hardware to make the bagging system so much better.
#1 - Include An Extended Trailer Hitch Bracket.
#2 - Attach A Dust Shield (a black steel plate) To Bagger Framing, Between The Bags And The Engine Air Filter Intake.
#3 - Replace Snap-On With Screw-On Perimeter For The Rubber Chute Gasket.
#4 - Include Strong Recessed/Captive Washers For Lasting Chute-To-Deck Attachment.
All I can say about this is..... "Typical Corporate Thinking"
Husqvarna's "Direct Material" cost conversion stinks. In this case, the bagger would have gone from "PROBLEMATIC" to "DECENT".

Adding to my comment #2 I believe it would immensely help in protecting the engine air filter inlet if Husqvarna included a large thin steel plate to the bagger mounting bars, creating a physical wall between the engine air intake and dusty bagging area. The additional wall would be cheap and effective. I estimate it would reduce the dust on the air filter by 90%.

power equipment man sells an air filter kit for your engine to change it over to the commercial grade air filter housing Kawasaki uses on their commercial engines.

@@one-way1927 Thank you for your comment. I have seen and considered that commercial grade cannister air filter conversion kit. I ruled it out because I have no confidence, my plastic engine cover it attaches to, will handle the stress from all that weight standing tall. My bumpy yard would soon break the engine cover. I considered reinforcing the plastic cover, but am not confident I can achieve long term reliability. I am thinking about adding a thin steel plate attached to the bagger support bars, creating a debris shield between the bags and engine air intake.

That baffle is used with the mulch kit. All you need is the cover over the shute.

I have never owned a zero turn with a bagging system, and I'm expecting mine to be delivered tomorrow. But, why can't you just add plastic bags to the baggers which it seems will stop the dust? I'm going to do that to mine and hope it works just fine. Thanks for the video and the input on the bagging system. Much appreciated.

The problem using plastic bags is that the air has to pass through them in order for the grass to enter the bags. Plastic bags will severely restrict the air flow, restricting the vaccum action needed for the bagger to operate. I had mentioned in another reply (not in a video) I feel Husqvarna should include a nicely finished thin black painted steel plate that bridges across the two vertical bagger mounting pipes. Such a steel plate would "shield" the engine's air filter inlet, potentially decreasing contamination by 75%.

Hello, great vid, I remember when you first purchased this mower and I watched your vid. Can you tell me more about the counterweight? I have a MZ-61 and Need a weight bar for it and I really like the one you have, If you can tell me where you purchased it and how much would be awesome.

I bought the counter-weight off eBay. It cost me $153 with shipping included. I thought it was generic, but the title of the eBay sale ad said this: "Troy Bilt 719-04271A Bagger Weight RZT ZTX 42 46 48 50 54 60 S L Weight Triple". The seller had only one to sell. I did a search on the part number 719-04271A and found many for sale. Walmart has it for $198 with free shipping. Maybe you can find it cheaper elsewhere.

They got those two matters right on your lighter duty Z254F but not on my medium duty MZ48. I wonder who is in charge of engineering over there at Husqvarna. Someone has been sleeping at the wheel. My trailer hitch would have cost them pennies more to make it right.

HELLO, thank you so much for the reply and the Info, I do want to ask how is the ride and does the weight help the ride when running solo without the bagger on. thank you.
@rondittmer5802
@rondittmer5802 Жыл бұрын
My lawn is very bumpy in places, so the ride can be a bit rough. It helps to maintain the proper tire pressure stated in the owners manual. I would say my additional front weight improves the ride by a little bit. But... if I did not have a bagger, I would not bother with that weight because with my slopes, I wonder if the weight contributes to the rear tire spin-out that I deal with.

About the counter-weight. It turns out that weight is used on a number of different mowers. Google seach for part number 719-04271A and you will find it for sale at a number of places. About the baffling kit. It was included in the bagging kit.

To: @@adnantariq3346 Because the bagging system does an exceptional job for its intented purpose of vaccuming and collecting, I live with the shortcomings I pointed out. I live without a trailer hitch. I clean the engine's air filter after every cutting. When I don't want to bag for a particular cutting, I keep the entire system mounted (minus the bags) because it is so very difficult to reach around from below to remove (and later reattach) the carriage bolts that mount the chute to the cutting deck.

Pretty sure it’s a third party supplier for the bagger with Husky label on the box
@rondittmer5802
@rondittmer5802 11 ай бұрын
I believe you are correct. No doubt Husqvarna evaluates 3rd party products with their name on it. They should have insisted on the following improvements to maintain Husqvarna quality to avoid customer dissatisfaction. 1) perimeter hardware instead of snaps for square retaining ring on hood 2) additional pressure-distribution washers for chute-to-deck attachment 3) debris shield for engine air filter 4) lower bracket to support chute at rubber gasket on hood 5) extended hitch plate to allow trailering with kit installed Total cost would add roughly $25 to the purchase price. Well worth it for the sake of quality and reputation, making customers happy instead of disappointed.
