I agree completely, the most times I use AI during programming is if I am stuck on a problem I've been sitting hours on trying to fix with no luck and googling just isn't helping, and when I am coding at 2am and only have 30% brain power left and just want to get things done so I can go to sleep - so it is pretty much my last resort I also try to discourage new devs from using AI, since they should be able to code without it, otherwise their "skill" means nothing, since it's just the AI doing everything for them, and the day AI can't help them with a problem, they'll be completely stuck Too much of a good thing can turn out to be bad - assistance is a good thing, but in moderation
I totally agree! I am a student and a few months ago I realized that I didn't even know how to write the basic structure of a class in Java without Copilot, I knew it before but I forgot over time because it was so easy to press tab. Now I disable it because I have created an incredible dependency, I'm trying to quit as much as possible :)
