Honestly your perspective on it is pretty true even as someone who is notoriously matchy. I think honestly it’s something in my brain where I feel wrong if it’s not matching. I’ve personally gone out and found new ways to match that are less obvious as I do think sometimes matchy is TOO easy like I’ll wear Balenciaga head to toe and like it’s clean but like anyone could do it tbh if they had access. It’s all about finding new ways to do it. Tbh I’m always going to be a bit of a matchy cornball because I like feeling put together and like what I’m wearing has harmony from top to bottom but there is surely an equilibrium as to when it becomes way too easy and just starts giving Old Navy matchings sets our moms got us at age 6 but with designer logos. Fabolous is the king of doing this and sometimes he does it clever sometimes it’s obvious. But I feel like I see myself in that a lot lol so it’s not hate… Sometimes I just see items in my wardrobe where it’s like okay this is just MEANT to be paired even if it’s just overly obvious. But this video made me reflect well clearly as shown by long ass comment on how I match a lot and other ways to do it… You’re cool fuck the hate too they just don’t get it fr. If I'm doing something really saturated (Raging Bull 5s for example) I'd go all black or white with the shirt and pants with a hat to match the kicks. But I prefer mostly white shoes so I can go wild with the shirts/hats and not look goofy 🤷🏽‍♂️
