Why I Have Sold My Mercedes A45 AMG!

The A45 AMG is one of the fastest Hot Hatches you can get and i did enjoyed it a lot BUT It is now SOLD! I bought a Mercedes A45 AMG 7 months ago and I went for the 2016 facelift model in Juniper red. The car still amazes me with the sound from the performance exhaust. and how quick it is. But Life happens and sometimes cars need to be be sold to fund other things and here is why i sold it! It has gone to AMG specialist Churchs performance cars and you can buy the car in stock form.

Hi Stef. We all have to put our passions to one side and be sensible now and again. I had to sell my beautiful Ford Capri 3 litre, back in 1985, so I could have a deposit to buy my first house. It didn't take long before I bought some cool cars again. But now is the time to see what fun, fast and interesting cars you could buy which could give you just as much fun as the A45 for less than say 10 grand? Cheers, Jon.

Good on you, property is an asset whilst a car in particular a new car is a liability. I said it before when did the car finance series, the money to fund a new car can go towards overpayment of your mortgage for early repayment. Own houses in prime areas and drive an old e86 in the slow lane.

hi stef hope ur well. i wanted to ask you after having the a45 do the abarths feel slow? i know they are not slow but are they quick in general like if you was to compare it to your a45 or isit just a nippy car for what it is kind of thing?

Abarth is a nippy car but you can’t compare the two really. a45 is near 400bhp vs 180bhp comp. where the Abarth lacks speed it makes up for in character but as an all round package the a45 is the better car but you have more fun in the Abarth

Sad to see the A45 go, but I too know the pain of loosing on such a good car! I’ve also just got a house and have missed out on my A45 (for now) but I’m happy with my AMG line, got the looks but not the speed haha! Btw, the green A45 is the best looking colour for that car, I’d have that over any other car out there now!

Good luck on the house purchase... get something like a used UP Gti... more than plenty for the UK roads plus you have less chance of losing the licence or your life.....

Stef, I think it is safe to say that we are all so glad that you sold the AMG! Honestly, I'm sure the car was fun to drive but your passion is clearly with the Abarth. I think you should purchase a 2013-2015 Abarth which you can get for right around $10,000 USD or less (at least here in the States). I got mine via private sale for $9,750 USD (2013 Abarth Cabriolet w/ modified exhaust & air intake - mint condition - 36,000 miles). Extremely affordable and as you know... more fun than words can describe.

Yeah I know the feeling. Which is way I bought a house first and didn't buy my first car until I was 32. Then I purchase my dream car at the time, Evo X Bathurst Edition. Ten years later I'm married with kids I bought my wife GLA45 AMG Yellow Night Edition. Priority comes first in life.

Wise decision as you'll always need somewhere to live. I bought my house and drove a cheapish car for 5 years (no payments). Now I get to spank some money on a nice car. Worth it.

I payed my house of first and got gla45 yellow night briliant car everyone has one or 2 things to pick on ..when I'm in comfort mode and put my foot softly on the pedal to take of its very hesatant to get going takes a second before it says ok you want to go ..only issue I'm wondering if some sort of tune would fix that ..I'm thinking yes

Very wise move. I've been in this position myself, had to sell my previous Abarths so that me and my fiance could afford our house. Now that we're in and know what expense we have, I went to buy my current 595 comp, as we knew we could afford one. House always comes first. All the best to you.

right decision, save the monthly payment for house and the asset that dont get much depreciation like car. nowsday all the thing are being overpriced and bounded with finance product to keep people building their debt. good luck!

Deep down I reckon the amg is a tad boring car, very good at accelerating with a nice interior plus exterior but that’s where it ends for me, there’s no character and feedback it’s just point and go and that’s where it ends ☹️

Yeh get a property, then get married and have a family, then realise how little money you really have. Cars are cheap compared to a home and family. My household bills cost more than the monthly payment on my rs3 saloon. My kids bills cost more too, lol.

Church’s are great and lovely people but bloody hell you made a 3 minute video into 10 just repeating stuff. Why not say I can’t afford to pay the finance on the car and buy a house?! Too long did not watch LOL.
