Gambia is a beautiful place but yes, you definitely need to know people. My boys have dual citizenship and we go often in fact just last year we visited for a month. I’m sorry about your challenges there as I’ve never had issues there. If anything I’d say it’s more free now than when Jammeh was in power. Also, Marabou are very real in Gambia and there are things you just don’t do like eating food or taking any drinks from strangers. George Floyd was nothing more than a Martyr! .

Gambia is beautiful! In my opinion the diaspora is not contributing to growth for two reasons: lack of funds and lack of business experience. My stay was successful. I did what I said I would do in the time frame I gave myself. True the diaspora are increasing the country GDP, but as a whole it has not caused a change for the lives of Gambians. It has caused inflation and higher prices for Gambians. Plus Gambians hate that Americans dislike what feeds them “Europeans.” My time was well spent and I love Gambia. We need to rethink what Come back home to Africa truly means and be more intentional with our actions. I have a different political opinion, but I am not a citizen so I will reserve my political opinion. I’m glad you said it: you don’t eat food or take drinks from strangers. Thank you kindly for weighing in on this topic!🙏🏾✌🏾

Did I hear and understand you correctly that the US government is encouraging people to travel? Maybe you could say more about that. This was a very educational and informative video. There was a time in the early days in the shutdowns when I really started to think about Africa. Not sure what happened, but my interest waned. And now, as crazy as I think the state of things are in the US, it absolutely terrifies me to contemplate going to Africa, much less re-locate or settle. But things change, and sometimes circumstances push you. For now Gambia or Ghana for that matter would not be top on my list. Your video actually resolved that question for me. I wish you well and I hope others who are interested in going over listen to you and accept your wisdom.

Thank you kindly. As indigenous people; we must live and speak truth. Honesty and integrity must be our only policy. We simple must do better. I stand with you 100%. The world needs Africa and all leaders are fighting for a piece of the pie. I will research more and revert. I appreciate the exchange.

What about Rwanda? It seems to be a place for blacks to move to. We visited for a month and felt comfortable. No issues.

@GodsChild1159 Rwanda is on my list. I hear it’s beautiful and stable. For those who seek a peace of the pie, I heard Rwanda has strict rules about ownership. I believe if you have a business, you can purchase property under your business. Is that true!

I appreciate there is a lot of truth to your video however, the life expectancy in Gambia is not 40,s is around 62. However, it is dependent on how someone lives and whether they have access to good health care and finances. Lets not put people off a beautiful nation. There are issues worldwide.

You're right about life expectancy for seniors. However, this discussion doesn’t include those under 40 or infant mortality rates. My goal isn't to discourage anyone but to provide Afro-Americans with the information they need to navigate The Gambia safely. It’s a place of both beauty and danger. Given the current global issues, it's crucial not to hide the truth and the realities on the ground in Africa. As a people, we can only do better if we know better! Thank you and I feel your heartfelt comment.

You are welcome and I appreciate your heartfelt concern. I am better, thank you! Life is riddled with wickedness by and against us. As a people we are not excluded, but included because we refuse to separate ourselves and walk in our true authority. Our problem is our failure to respect and love one another. We have traded our belief system for greed and self-gratification. Thank you for listening and communicating with me. Looking forward to more dialog

I enjoyed listening to you. Thank you. I would like to visit the continent but Gambia is not one of the places I care to visit. So glad you are safe. I think the US government need to issue a travel advisory for Gambia. Too many have been unalived there.

Right. Most Americans on the continent are not ready for real development and work. Hate to say it, but it is a different breed arriving.
