One day in March of 2019, I decided I was done with living in the City and wanted to move to the country and try my hand at becoming a homesteader. Here's my reasoning behind that decision

I was born in Southern CA and lived there most of my life just cause it was familiar. Then I went to work in the Pacific Northwest in the oil industry and saw the rural life. LOVED it. Politics and faith brought me to the East Coast. I’m closer to your state now. Couldn’t stand being packed in apartment buildings. I would never go back to the city.

When hubby and I were first married we lived on main street. Granted it was in a TINY town, but it was main street none the less. We moved out because we wanted SPACE and we wanted ANIMALS and we wanted our kids to be able to be loud without annoying the neighbors. We've been at our farm now for 9 years and I would never go back. There is a peace out here and a sense of "having your own" that I didn't get when we lived in town. Glad to hear the reasons you moved out of the city and looking forward to hearing how everything goes in the future!

Well Nate, can't blame you about leaving the big city. I left, and I won't ever go back. There are too many pros for leaving and not many cons at all. Can't wait to see what you do with your property. Love.

Lived in the country all my life until I moved to Atlanta Georgia. OMG NEVER AGAIN will I live in a big city. For me the crazy amount of traffic made me want to move back to the country. Those country roads brought me home 😊

I’m excited to see what you do with your one acre. Are you going to put in a garden this year? What is the grow zone of Virginia? I garden and KZfaq from Oregon zone 8b. I lost my mom in September. I’m sorry for your loss.

So let me work in reverse here. The grow zone of West Virginia is 6b. I have a rather large area I’m going to devote to my garden. But I’m waiting for clear weather to finish cleaning it up. I have a full tree worth of branches that still need to be burnt off.

I can't hardly wait to leave the city . I want my own land with a house I built myself . I've spent time in the Tempe , Sun Valley area for a few weeks and I didn't like it . That's where I thought I would have a homestead . I'm sorry that you lost your mom .

Thanks for that. It’s been a rough year. As for Sun Valley, I avoided that area like the plague. Traffic was always such a hot mess. If you’re still in AZ, try the Prescott Valley area. Much more comfortable temperatures, less people, and more space.

I'm no longer there , I'm just outside of the Denver Metro area . The cost of living has gone sky high and the traffic gives me anxiety .... hahaha
