Had left medical option and chose FT after 12 , just by the name "food technology " , even teachers of the college post visit said it has tremendous scope , but rarely did I know what the reality is . Its still after 4 yrs I sometimes think why did I not choose medical and haunt my days and night . Listening from professionals like Prabodh Sir , Sanjeev sir , that FTechnologists are replaced by chemistry , mechanical , people spikes the worries more. Anyways , fingers crossed , will pass this year.

Sir I understand that this field isn't a cake walk but just a question if I graduate with B.tech in food technology. Can I expect atleast "a job" (not talking abt the pay scale or anything) I understand we are freshers and nobody is going to offer us a good package. But atleast like a regular decent paying job?

yes you says right👍 becauseof many students are thinking that they are completed M.sc /M.tech then they get job but some times they do not have job in the field of food domain but some students trying another field .so we look upto both of side aspects in food technology. food technolgy is actually wide area of innovation , research , processing , shelf life of product and packaging , they are basic pillar of food domain. so don't be -ve and many opportunity in food domain or sector just find out your self and do that with patience and focus on the work because many company wants innovation particulary food domain /sector and they pay good amount from the company . sir you explain nicely😊 😊✌👍👍

True, Food Technology is a developing field in India. There are many pros to food technology but we should also consider cons while choosing this field. According to me if you pursue your degree from a tier-2 or tier-3 college, it is very difficult for freshers to get jobs with decent pay package. Lot of good colleges are unable to provide placements to their students. Also in the initial phase, the return on investment is very low as we have to pay fees in lakhs during our grad but the salary we get is around 10,000 to 25,000 rupees. Please consider both sides of the coin before making any decision. And if you are truly interested in the field make sure you complete your degree from a well reputed college.

Sir one doubt tell about FCI exam

I am from a different domain so can't comment on food tech but I can promise you that once you get a job and get comfortable with what you are getting you won't move forward. Be smart enough to identify that the current opportunity at hand is not rewarding and strong enough to move on gracefully.

I am the student of b.tech food technology studies from dr. PDKV, akola university. I must say that as compare to other sectors food technology has a scope but success is not easy to get in any sector for that we have to take some struggle. In This covid vacation we can improve our skills..just used this lockdown.. And the success is in your hand😇.
