Yeah , your. going to find yourself thinking TGI Fridays is delicious , its okay but I have will only see them in Cebu and Manila . Filipino food sucks. have you ever seen a filipino restaurant in the U.S. adobo sucks , everything is fried , beef is not beef , the best you can hope for is many locsls are getting hip and cooking western food , they are getting better at it but this is no place for a foodie

I had a house once and needed to sell. Squatters couldn't get them out legaly. Took out 5 grand . Went to the localhells angels mc club. Told them the situation , i really needed to sell to pay some divorce bills and shit. This was on a Tuesday, Friday they called me to swing by. Went there was handed my house keys and assured there would be no more problems and there wasnt.

Come on Ace lets not get in the wagon train with the American cost of living thing. I live in Midwestern USA ( not Chicago ) and live very well off of only my Social Security check. I NEVER use any of my savings/ investments for living expenses. If you avoid maybe 10 or t2 major metropolitan areas this can be done. Yes, you have a very strong point about the dating scene in USA. It is awful and a waste of time so for this reason I will spend part of the year in Philippines.

I grew up in New Orleans lower 9th ward ghetto. Joined the service and used the G.I. bill for a science degree. In America, once I moved to upper middle class, it's been fantastic. Ended up living in Redondo beach, California. I like Philippines also, but for different reasons. I think basically, because of my age 50+, and I'm free. I'll try Thailand next. Have fun, don't get stuck

Hmmm... Chow: 580 pesos, about $10 US, versus $4 in Thailand. And for $240 US you will get a better apartment in each of Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. So WHY Philippines? Its the Elephant in the Room question! Possible Answer: They will have me! (The rest are trickier to stay in, long-term.) And that is a perfectly respectable answer. But say so, or provide a "believable" reason for staying in one of the (relatively) inferior Value-For-Money options in SE Asia...
