This is good information. It’s good to know how immediately perfume destroys the Renaissance Wax. I hope this doesn’t sound awful, but I would never recommend perfume use around jewelry. Spritz a few minutes before you put any jewelry on. I work in the jewelry industry and we are not allowed to wear perfume or lotions when in the workroom. Overtime, perfume, fragrant oils and lotion will effect your jewelry. Of course, there are degrees of how quickly your piece will be effected, such as pearls (especially real pearls), emeralds or silver vs gold or diamonds. Anyway, just an FYI. I love your videos and am learning so much from you.

Hi Katie ! I had a very similar problem with Fimo varnish yesterday. I knew from a former video of yours about the perfume mist, and this is why I have only resined so far. But it takes so long and I am so annoyed by retractation on the edges, that I thought "ok let's give a try to varnish". We don"t have Varathane here in France. If i want to use the equivalent (Syntilor epoxy resin varnish) i will need to test it for weeks and months before being sure it's OK. Long story short, i resined the front of my earrings and varnished the back. Not very satisfied with the Fimo varnish but it was OK enough. And then after resining the front, I needed to use some 70° alcohol and guess what happended... the varnish melted... yay. Back to resin then.......
