I'm so glad that I've finally been able to quit League for an extended period of time since I started playing around 4-5 years ago. The thing that broke the camel's back for me was Vanguard being added to LoL, and as someone with experience in cybersecurity, I am not trusting a company like Riot with kernel level access to my computer, among all the other issues that you brought up and you pretty much hit the nail on the head for all of them. It's such an awful game that turns good people into toxic or straight up depressed versions of themselves. The game has no soul anymore and just wants it's playerbase to fork over more money for progressively lazier skin designs and boring ass events that all feel the same. The only thing I'm looking forward to from Riot is season 2 of Arcane, otherwise, I want nothing to do with them.

I find it funny how you had to clearify why you arent a high ranking player just to avoid the classic League player fallacy of "your opinion about the game matters as much as your rank". Great video!

I quit LoL years ago because it became kind of boring, and moved to Eternal Return, when it had the Battle Royale mode (I didn't play much once they removed it). XD Recently, I considered going back to LoL, but my main role was support, and it's totally lost its purpose. It made me really sad. u_u Now, I might go back to ER and I'm happy I found your channel.

Every single word in this video resonates with me. League player myself for 10+ years and I felt the same way about league as the years gone by. In league I physically couldnt get a game past 15 minutes in normals. That's what made me quit. Everyone just constantly gave up before the game even started and it sucked. They fired off their lore team and a ton of artists too. I absolutely hate that. They stopped outsourcing lore to LoR through budget cuts. The Ahri skin nailed me into never playing the game again. Riot disgusts me now. I'm so much happier in the smaller niche ER community.

i loved everything you said eespecially about shorter games-longer games. i personnally feel like it should be longer for alot of reasons. its soo snowbally now so rushed.

i agree with you in everything, i played league por 5 years, support main, i reached Diamond, but at some point game became so frustrating for me, everyone was super toxic, damage was super unbalanced, even support can oneshot now, riot doesnt care about toxicity, they only care about your RPs, and now i found ER and i am very happy about it, game is everything that league is not

I've watched some of your vids now and what can i say - the same soul is here. I've been a support player in league too ,i'm not as old for a league player,but for eternal return instead. I was having fun and all that stuff in botlane where i even met one of my friends that i play ER with till this day and i know what you're talking about when you say that supports were scary. I've used to main Soraka ,Leona and Braum and the entire plays were hold on my sacrifice or good targeting but now support is just a 5th dps or so and it doesn't make any damn sense to me personally,why in the fuck? Not talking about who is the tank at the toplane anymore since i haven't played this role so much ,but er is different in that way and i'm glad for it. I've got into the game when like bernice got release or something around that time and eternal return has grew so much. I love this game for it's tactics,and the fact that i can play supports like in the some-old days of league making huge plays ,i think it's a personal thing,but for me supports in eternal return are more complicated which makes then even more fun,my favorite one is Adina though,she has so much util and playing her isn't as boring cause of the sigil manage,and that's the part that league miss. I'm a newer league player (started Nov 2020) but I feel you with the community. I love the actual game itself, but the community is atrocious. Kinda funny how you mentioned DBD as well since I stopped playing that both because of the actual balance and the community. I do view bot lane in a different light than you. Last year, I swapped from maining top to adc since it is so much stronger and easier to carry a game. That being said, I hate that they often refuse to *meaningfully* nerf certain champions because of popularity (staring at Kai'sa). Also, I want to shed some light on the Neeko and Sylas bit. Sylas's background is he was put in jail as a young boy for being born a mage in Demacia. Now that he has broken free, he wants to get revenge and uses the tools of his oppressors against themselves. His Q and E both use the chains that he was bound in to deal damage , with his ult quite literally taking an enemy champion's ability and using it against them. Neeko's ult doesn't exactly fit that idea or design and was probably created just so she had something strong in her kit to make people want to play her. Anyways, loved the video and I thank you for making more beginner focused content for ER! I might've run into you a few times on ER so be merciful please ;-;

Found ER back in late 2021 (through a... ehem... VERY sussy Leon fanart no less) during the time we were burnt out playing League. Installed ER and never looked back. We got to, like, low Plat as a Hyejin-Jenny duo. Quickly fell in love with the unique takes on characters. Like, why play Hwei when we can just play Tia (who I think pulls off the artist fantasy better) or Adina (who pulls off the complicated mage archetype better). They are significantly harder to play than Hwei though. I guess my only gripe with Nimble Neuron is that they're kinda neglecting areas of the community outside of Korea. I hardly see any ads or promotions about the game, honestly. Then there's the issue of servers and connectivity. Us players who play in Asia server who are from SEA have to constantly struggle fighting against East Asian players with like 10 ping while we work with 100 ping on a lucky day. Also, the writer who wrote the article re: Ahri skin literally did not know what they were talking about lol. Faker = Ryze, even Riot use Ryze to represent Faker in their MVs.Probably does not even play League or know Faker, was just tasked to write about the outrageous skin and probably did not even do due research.

i definitely agree with most of your points i feel as if the balancing though is very reminiscent, me starring at you skin buffs, which in general most of the reason for balance changes really get stale “oh this character preforms good at their job, oh wait we nerfed them too hard so here’s a buff, oh wait-“ it is important to note these versus/asymetric games will never truly find balance but the reason for balance changing in games like league make me giggle.

Quitted for more than half a year now. I would close my eyes on toxicity if people actually would of gotten punished. I've had games with level 30-40 accounts who just follow me and last hit every jungle camp/cs, or put anivia walls while flaming me for dying. I report them after game and manually through customer support, wait 1 week or so, their accounts are still up, they're climbing up like nothing happened. Was very fun. I'm playing this game for competitive reasons, so elo was very important to me. It was also very discouraging to see some level 30 account who spammed you with KYS and other crap and who tried to hold champ select hostage, again after 1 week, climb to diamond with not that great of a winrate, within 50-60 games or so, while you have 15 game winstreak with almost 70% winrate, stuck emerald 2 ,getting +10/ -30. If i paid for smurf account like he did, i would of been diamond no problem, with all that effort. This shit is just straight up broken. No punishments, enabling smurf accounts who ruin the game for everyone, dogshit vanguard, lazy skin lines, FOMO events with no actual event worthy stuff. Game does not value your time what so ever, and i've stopped having fun with it completely. The only downside to me is what i'm no longer playing with a certain group of friends, but if that's the price to pay then so be it, i just can no longer play this dogshit.

I found that for many of the League games I played over the last few years, there would almost always be something that would go wrong, whether it's an afk, a lane or jungler that completely failed, or someone's who's toxic in chat or just negative in attitude in general, it felt like it was a waste of time to even bother to try to get better. I really liked the Arena mode, but vanguard really put me off, so I just quit.

I quit years ago. You are not allowed to experiment or have fun, you will get insta flamed if you pick anything off meta, people will hop into solo norms and act like they're playing worlds finals and if they lose their entire family gets disappeared. Uninstalled and have been trying a bunch of other games, it's been great.

Another thing that really pissed me off playing league is how a majority of the playerbase just has such a loser mentality, so many games end with a team surrendering and if enemy team is up 4 kills and get a drag you’ll always have someone on ur team just wanting to ff instead of actually trying to win. such a pathetic set of people that fill up the playerbase its sad

Another thing I want to say is that I used to play support, all of the good supports keep getting nerfed to hell, back in the day Sona, Lulu, Janna, and Taric got nerfed. Being punished because I mastered my favorite support champions was rediculous.

Getting this as a recommendation after looking up how to climb out of Master I elo hell has to be some kind of message from the gods Luckily I think I've managed to replace my MOBA addiction with a Path of Exile (and ARPG in general) addiction, but I'll probably also try this anime BR MOBA at some point

It sucks you don't play anymore. Its a great game, but I understand how the community can change you. This happens in all games, its just a different game for everyone. I like eternal return, and I play league. I do wish some of my friends who play lol would give ER a try. It is a free game and it is the the only BR I like.

I played nearly non stop from like 2012 to 2020. I felt like the toxicity of the game actually got much better in that time. I just finally lost interest in it is why I stopped playing. I have done a handful of games in the last year or so, but with they Vanguard roll out and how they did it. Naw, never going to touch it again. And for the record, I consider support my main role. Mid is my second.

I used to play league because my then friends played it. Eternal return interested me, i played it a bit a while back, but it didnt stick because it didnt stick with said friends. Now they apparently play it but i distanced myself from them lmao I like watching ER but i really don't know if i want to play it again haha

the reason why I stopped playing was, because the friends I used to play with stopped playing and I just couldn't force myself to play alone forever also it got in a way of my genshin addiction

good video good good video. only mistake is recommending eternal return. It's not well fleshed out, it still has issues with balancing and design philosophies which aren't really in line with what you would want in a fun game. For example, burst mages also have sustained damage in this game. That's not normal. Horrible new player experience, optimization issues, buggy gameplay, keeping people out of matchmaking with errors. RNG on bears, animals will deter many people from playing this game for dropping transitions. Some characters have really unfun designs such as anti-melee mechanics, e.g Vanya R is a massive aoe which a character like a melee auto attacker won't really avoid due to how big it is while being able to do damage to her. Things like Totem mitigate one of Vanya's crippling weaknesses to an absurd extent, is that good for the game? I don't think so, and no I'm not saying that there's not instances where a weakness of a char can be mitigated by something like Blink but Totem is extremely oppressive and leads to this game's other issue. Matchups are still very relevant despite it being 3v3 game mode because some chars can conditionally 2v1, or even 3v1 especially with the lone wolf mechanic they added, ESPECIALLY Vanya, Sua, stuff like that. Most these characters are very annoying for especially new players to play into. Demoralising for new players to play into that. There's a lot of issues with ER, and the player count issue will still be a thing in the regions this video will reach. But yes, one of the few things you noted in the video is that there's no laning phase, to prevent staleness, more forced fighting. I agree with that, as Superior would say "the games like you are playing jungle at all times, fighting with a bit of farming in between".

Please, don't play ranked on Korea, that will ruin your experience.
