Just found your channel, I wanted to tell you about my brother. My brother is 15 months younger than me, he will be 57 years old in January, you could say I’ve never known life without him. He is dual diagnosed with Down’s syndrome and Autistic spectrum disorder. He is non verbal, he is my life and even more so since the passing of my mother and my father now being diagnosed wit Alzheimer’s. Kevin my brother now lives in a supported living home and I am now officially his deputy. He has been a complete blessing and I love him to pieces. He has brought so much joy to us all, he is a grumpy old man now and isn’t as loving as most people with Downs, he picks when he wants a hug and I’m happy to take his hugs when he wants to give them. I would do anything for him and my life has been blessed having him in my life. I’m proud to call him my brother. Winnie is beautiful and the world is her oyster she can achieve with your family’s support.

Thank you for sharing your journey. I'm a mom with two autistic kiddos. I enjoy learning from others because no two ways are the same yet stuff gets done. I am also a stay at home mother and so thankful to be able to do so. I have always felt that noone can raise your babies better than you the mom. Not day care, not a nanny or school but mommy of that baby. I also understand very much that not all mothers have that privilege and need these services because there just is no other choice. That is what I mean by privilege to be able to stay home with your children.

Hello fellow stay at home mama👋🏻 I know it is a privilege to stay at home, I am so grateful we are able to make it work. Its not the best financial situation, but its the most rewarding thing I could do in my life🥰

I'm here as a single mama, to my 20 month old son... and I TOO whole heartedly agree! I'm doing everything in my power to find work where I can bring him along! I have an interview tomorrow at a new tiny daycare, and we BOTH are invited! 😭🙌🙏💞🌠 He is my everything, the light of my life, and we both deserve to have one another always ❤️ Thanks for sharing your mutual wishes... it's the honor of my life to be his mama.. my sweet River 💙 looking forward to following along... and maybe one day, sharing how I've made it work to be a stay at home mom/artist and homeschooler!! The teaching degree I worked so hard for 9 years ago, was just one of many things preparing me for HIM! 💙🙏🤰🙌

What a beautiful family you have . Every one of your 'lovelies ' will thrive with your enthusiastic input ! You will have the odd day you are knackered BUT every day you have the joy of having the joy of seeing the small achievements Winnie has. Most mums take them for granted !! Worked with DS students many years and seen remarkable things that they can and do ! Learning to drive . assisted living. working . the usual teenage tantrums ..then going on to have boyfriends and sometimes weddings ! In all these times you are blessed with thier constant love . Indeed the best years of my life.....Folk can keep their fame and fortune ... they don't know what love and being truly happy means ! God Bless your family !!

It will fly by but in the beginning its all intense..then school days..then sport & dance/ music concerts then high school etc etc. My 3 did gym ballet( even my 2 boys did tap dancing) music & sport. Im a dance/ Pilates teachet & my daughter the same! Enjoy your children & husband too

Have you ever read what German New Medicine has to say about DS? absolutely fascinating. Just something to ponder. They describe a case of someone’s DS lessening in severity over time through following their recommendations. God bless you and your family! I mean no offense at all I just know I would want to read that study if my child had Down syndrome.

I am so glad you’re sharing your story, be careful, I know you are all new to KZfaq, but there are a lot of predators out there looking for pictures of young children to do nasty things with. I want your you and your children to be safe. So just be careful what you share, do your research, and take care of those amazing kiddos.

I work in a group home for developmentally disabled adults and I love people with down syndrome. They are so happy and so polite. They are capable of so much more than people give them credit for and they are so proud of their accomplishments. They are the first to help me around the house and they tell me they love me everyday.
