There's not many times you can plug in a system to experience it again and come out with having a sense of nostalgia for the pass while being able to relive as if things never changed. That's the feeling the Wii U gave me!
Lets take a dive into the Wii U and my experience with it.

USING THIS COMMENT TO ADD ON TO SOME THINGS PEOPLE HAVE COMMENTED ABOUT AND ANYTHING I MAY OF FORGOTTEN. I have wiimotes that work now. At the time of making this video by two wiimotes I had just gave out and I couldn't find any shops that had any that weren't third party. Instead of delaying the video for a week or so just to get a Wii mote shipped or wait till a store had it. I decided to not do that as again I only needed a Wii mote for the one part in Nintendo land as most games can be played with the gamepad or pro controller which was always my preferred way to play Some people also took the fact that I didn't play some of these games as I'm not loving the system properly I guess. I want to add most of these games I owned. I owned when I was in HS and didn't have time to play a lot of these games or I got after I was in college for dirt cheap. I plan to still cover a lot of games even some I didn't play much here so please don't take the fact my 16-20 year old self didn't play a Wii U game while growing up as me not loving the system as I know many people who own games that also haven't ever played them all. Steam Libraries are big for this tbh. I also realized I forgot to talk about Mario kart 8. So I’ll cover that here. Mario kart 8 is the best Mario kart game in the series.

I loved the Wii U since I was a little kid! I had no idea it was failure until a few years ago, but to this day, I still whip out Nintendo Land, and play it all night long

I never got the Wii U when it was new but back in December I was at my local dollar general and I saw behind the counter on a shelf they were selling old games and I saw a blue case I knew the Wii U was the only console with blue cases for the games so I bought it and it was 4 bucks and it was just dance 2017

I still love my Wii U, and it still has primary place in my game shelf, even over my Switch. I know mistakes were made, though I do love its quirky design. I know it's hardware has issues, I know its marketing sucked and third parties could never figure it out. What made me love it so much, however, was that it has one of the best first party lineups Nintendo has ever done. They tried hard to push high quality software on this thing, and they brought their A game to every title they made for it. Wii U games are all so good that I ended up being a late Switch adopter because all the best games on Switch (including Breath of the Wild) were also on my Wii U, so I saw no reason to trade up. But seriously, BotW, Splatoon, Mario 3D World, Smash 4, Mario Kart 8, DK Tropical Freeze, Pikmin 3, just to name a few. All super impressive games, and those are just the tip of the iceberg. I even loved many of the more divisive games like Paper Mario Color Splash and Star Fox Zero. Hell, even the pack-in game Nintendo Land is amazing. Add in all the indie games, and the best Virtual Console Nintendo has ever done and I still have not finished my Wii U backlog, and I play it regularly.

I ADORE the Wii U! I played the NES and SNES like crazy as a kid! Loved Super Mario 3 and was blown away by Super Mario World! But hard times hit and I missed out on the N64, GameCube and Wii generations. One day my wife got me a Wii U with Nintendo Land, Mario Kart 8, New Super Mario Bros and Mario 3d World and we played those games like mad! Loved them all!! So we picked up Yoshi's Woolly World, Wii Party U, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Kirby's Return to Dream Land, Pikmin 3, Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Wii Party, Wii Sports, Mario Kart Wii, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Smash Bros Wii U and Brawl, Mario Party 8, 9 and 10 and many more! I was blown away!!! It was my Big Bang/Holy Grail of gaming! And since I had nothing to compare with, I enjoyed these games for what they were and not for what I expected. Mario Party 10 was my first Mario Party and to this day I ADORE MP10!!! Love it! And for me, it is as enjoyable as any other Mario Party in the series. I own 5 Wii U's and I play Nintendo Land, Mario Party 10, Wii Party U, Wii Sports Club and Game and Wario often with my wife and kids! Love the Wii U!!

I always enjoy seeing comments like this of people who are as passionate as I am about the system. Yeah the Wii U for me was such a amazing time and I’m very nostalgic for those late night Wii U game sessions. I’m glad you got to experience a lot of those games you missed out on with the Wii U! Also glad your family loves it and we’re able to bond together with the Wii U

I was not ready for the classic "Amibo!" at 16:19. I never owned a Wii U, so the strange commercials and GameStop demo displays were my only exposure to it back then lol

Loved watching the live streams, sorry for not being able to hop on smash bros with you. I did love the wii u, just wish we could of got more and less restrictions with the way some games played.

9:21 I have to call you on the being able to add people from the recent played games is actually a thing. But I've only seen it in Mario Kart and Super smash bros or splatoon. I can show ya one day.

Maybe but the issue also was there with 3rd party devs not wanting to develop for it sadly. Would of still done better if the marketing and name were clearer

If it means anything I have two now that work. At the time I had two others that stopped for no reason. But I bothered because I love the Wii U. And most of the important footage I would of needed didn’t really need a wiimote so yeah. You can play majority of Wii U games with a pro controller or just the game pad

For any wanting to play StarFox listen carefully, don't play the main story first. Go to training mode and spend about two hours learning the controls, because the motion controls are kinda complicated. There's a minus button that swap screens and you have the ability to turn the motion controls on or off in the pause menu. It's easier to shoot everyone in first person mode, where as all ranged mode is easier for avoiding enemies.

Another thing you can also do is just get a pro controller and the second player actually gets normal controls and even can shoot normally. But yeah I advise people to just learn the controls if possible. While I do agree it's crazy you have to learn the controls to that extent. It will make your playthrough way way better.

the only hting i use is my wii u because one switch pay 50$ a yeartoo play older nintendo games that we can play gameboy color & advance and wii and game cube games and nes and snes and did i say ds games unlike the switch . we would have too pay 50$ a year for that . wii u has free online switch member shit varry 20$ or 35 or 50$ so i sticking with my wii u because its my retro emulator . also you can play all pokemon games from gen 1-5 not the 3ds though i modded my wii u glad i did

Yeah I agree. Even if the emulation isn’t the best on Wii U at least it’s free. Modding a Wii U is a must for sure

@@markmontero2960 So a lot of games I could recommend are already on the switch and the ones that aren't are over $100 sadly. My best recommendation is learn to mod it. Unless you have to have hard copies. However Zombi U and Captain toad I can recommend. Captain toad actually plays way better on the wii u for sure.

People like you bother me. Spending so much money on games with no interest or intention to even try them, especially when you're discussing a console you claim to love. I don't mean to throw shade at you, I'm sure you're a perfectly fine, well-adjusted gentleman. Consider it irksome on my part.

I mean you can love a system and not play everything the system offers even if you own games for it. But if you feel irked by me not playing every game I own on the Wii U then that’s fair but I also didn’t have all the time in the world as a child to play everything I did own and now as an adult I do and why I have this channel so I can play things and review them and talk about games I missed out on. However the video is more about the Wii U as a whole and not entirely about the games. Which is why I still love the Wii U and feel passionate about it. I did talk about the games but my love comes from the system and the experiences I did have not the experiences I didn’t. I can see though how to people who don’t have a lot of games and would love to have the games I did could be annoying as I didn’t play everything. If it also helps the games I didn’t really get to play I got when the switch was released and at that point I was in college so I had less time than I did before but I wasn’t going to not buy the games for super cheap if it means I could play later on. I also did play some of these games for the first time for this video specifically so I could experience them for this video. I just again didn’t have the time for some of the longer titles. However though I don’t take any offense to you feeling the way you do nor is it an attack on my character. I’ll admit I got spoiled as a child with lots of games as my parents were basically never around and because of that I didn’t get to experience everything or dropped many games growing up. Sometimes because I got something else or because of mental issues at the time. But hopefully you enjoyed the video. But I don’t ever want you to think I have no interest whatsoever to try any of these games. As again this is actually why I’ve had my KZfaq channel for over 7 years as this gives me more reasons to try games I never did. Because of this channel I’ve been able to have experiences with ps1 games for the first time as that was a whole system I missed out on and trying wii games I never had time for like fragile dreams, Dewey’s adventure, and etc. Also I always try to get games for cheap and barely ever buy them at full price so it’s also how I own a lot of games because I got them when prices were super cheap and affordable. Buying bulk also helps with that. I know if I bought them with todays prices I wouldn’t own everything I do because it would be way too expensive. That being said hopefully that helps you not feel irked by me but at the end of the day you can feel however you want. I’m not here to tell you it’s wrong or right. I again made a video to show my love for the Wii U and I still think I did a good job at doing so even if I never experienced everything I owned for it.
