In today's video, I'm sharing something that many of you might relate to - why I stopped investing (for now). Recently, I've had a lot of significant expenses, including buying a new apartment, paying the annual rent for my new place in Dubai, planning to buy a car, and finishing the furnishing in the new apartment. These expenses have made it challenging to continue my regular investment routine.
But here's the key message: it's okay to pause investing when life throws big financial responsibilities your way. Your first priority should always be to restore your emergency fund of three to six months of living expenses. This safety net is crucial for financial security.

Thanks a lot and much appreciated 🙌 I check where I can get the most bang for my buck, i.e. highest returns with least risk. Some platforms are quite speculative so for now I spread it between Trading 212, Lightyear, Trade Republic & Revolut. Cheers

Hi, as I've never been able to use it, hard to judge, but it does look interesting and similar to what we have in Europe like Lightyear, Trading 212, etc. I would surely give it a go, but for now I think they are not really available for most Europeans. Cheers

Great video, Kai! And right timing for me. I’ve been thinking about dropping the amount I invest monthly to rebalance it with my emergency fund but haven’t done much yet. I think it was just what I needed to hear to use that investment money and put it in my fund on Trade Republic so that I rebalance things in the next 2/3 months.

Hi and thanks a lot. Of course, that's always something on your mind, but I guess no real way around when you look on a global scale. Our apartment in Vilnius is close to the action there sadly, but same could be said about Dubai if things get worse between our neighbours here. But then again in Asia you have earthquakes, fires and governmental seizures at places so like anything in life and investing specifically, there will always been inherent risks, it's up to you how comfortable you are with them. That's why I am not putting all my net worth into one single investment or location, but instead diversify be region, by currency and different invest types like real estate, ETFs and crypto. Cheers

It's automatically done, but only on cash over $10K so honestly for interest on cash not the best option in my opinion.

Hey mate. Super useful video! That is something that has happened to me recently; when I get my salary at the beginning of the month, I tend to send a 10% of it to Trade Republic, where I keep my savings. After having done that, I send a certain amount of money to my brokerage account. However, this last month and a half I haven't been able to invest. I have kept sending money to Trade Republic but I haven't seen that big of a grow. Its stressful at times, but on the other hand, sometimes it's necessary to take care of the things in front of you before you pay youself!
