Yes, your hair got better when you stopped using it because it detoxed from all the heavy oils and butters in the product(s). If you use shea moisture and noticed your hair is starting to decline it's because you need to clarify your hair regularly. Secondly, remember that these products are conditioning agents meaning that they will only work on hair where the problem exists. Dry hair doesn't always mean lack of moisture. It can be build up or due to too much friction going on in the hair. This is why you have to learn your hair. A lot of people want to knock these brands for their products when in reality people don't really know their hair.

The problem is I have too because my hair stopped producing oil and completely dried out before and I use it now and my hair is better than it was before ig the experience is different for everyone x

Everyone has to find what products work best for their hair. I have spent so much money trying to find the right hair products. These hair companies should have an affordable sample line, so you won't have to pay full price.

Sample size may be too small to see results in the correct time frame. Not to mention companies are in business to MAKE $ and not spend it.😂 That will never be a universal thing as it's just not even practical. (All that extra plastic waste for "testing")

I appreciate this company so much. I use Manuka honey and yoghurt line. It’s transformative and I clarify. I thought I would never see my waves again as my hair was thinning due to health conditions and aging. Certainly not the end of the world. Curly is a word I yearn to use but I just don’t have curls. Just waves.

For me, Cantu was a waste of money tbh. It didn't really define my curls or reduce frizz. Shea Moisture is the best though.

Well shea moisture mainly focus on building moisture in the hair which may be too much build up so if you have more oily hair then it may not work for you

I will say if you use these products you have to use a clarifying shampoo because they will cause build up if they are not properly removed but her hair while she is using it what mines is looking like whiteout using I stopped because they are kinda expensive but my hair HAS NOT BEEN THE SAME since I stopped using them I just went to my local Walgreens and stocked up my baby. I miss what my curls used to look like before I stopped. I haven’t found anything that keeps my hair as moisturized and defined as Shea moisture does.

I’ve noticed this trend too. Like certain products will work on my hair for a good 6 months than stop. Also I have to alternate between using products/gels with protein and without. Now with the heavy shrinkage I’m going through, it’s safe to say my hair gets moisture so I prob will add more protein.

I NEED EVERYONE TO READ THIS. It’s because most of their products contain PROTEIN, which is ok as a treatment but NOT as something you use everyday like a leave in, my hair fell out & broke off so bad after using one of their products over time & I realised I had protein overload, will never use them again, why is protein in so many curly products

Came here to back this up. I used the moisture retention line from 2014-2019ish and as soon as I switched to the coconut and hibiscus (heavy in protein and strengthening and aloe) my hair looked dried and fried. So yes, I 100% agree. It’s sometimes the ingredients and what your hair needs, not the brand

@@OhWanya I thought the whole point of curly hair was we don’t heat style? I don’t anyway. And yeah but it should be used as a treatment not an everyday product but since then I don’t use it at all & make sure no products have it because I don’t want that to happen again lol

@@gracedottavi3174 that’s literally the product I’m talking about!! My curls looked good till my hair started falling out like crazy & breaking off. Learnt about protein overload the hard way. Avoid their products at all costs now because they all pretty much contain protein

@@Sweetieee idk, really im a 2C/3A and I heat style all the ty=ime and I always use product that contain keratin and a fair amount of heat protectant to not damage my hair when I wear it out natural and it work amazing! if I don't heat style I use hydration focus products to not have keratin/ silk protein in my hair. Too much protein not killed by heat will make the hair brittle. Well I presume now you know! :)

Yes agreed my hair is completely dried if it works for ur hair like mine I recommend not switching Because everyone has different hair types for example mine is a 4a but mine dried out when I was younger so I have to add a lot of oil to it now so if it works for you it’s fine u don’t need to switch cx

@lewis19701I tried the pomegranate line and been using it for a few months now but it’s not heavy enough for my hair and leaves it poofy and undefined. When my hair dries it looks like I didn’t put anything on it. Shea moisture got that grip tight whatever they put in it my hair loves it and it always keeps my hair defined and moisturized. It also helps with length retention it keeps my hair so moisturized that it doesn’t break off.

Same here!! But, they have changed their formula recently on some products to include polyquats and that builds up on my hair badly. Still going to use the souffle if they don’t ruin it. I’m currently on the search for new products. Leave in, deep treatments. Disappointing when companies that mess with a good thing that works on curly hair 😢

I’ve been using that and I had the same problem I have really curly hair and I’m losing so much hair to the point it’s bigger then a tennis ball don’t recommend for curly hair

If you’re losing a lot of hair that’s a problem tbh. Make sure to wash you hair only 2-3 times a week only nothing more. Also what other products are you putting in your hair?

I think it’s made more for coily kinky /Afro hair than it is for curly hair and that’s why. (I can’t speak for everyone though since some curly girls might like their stuff) but you def just gotta keep experimenting with brands till you find what works

@@ummmalekxo6772 actually seeing my comment here after using their new formulas. - they’ve changed their formulas to be less for kinky hair and more for curly and straight hair, they don’t work on my hair type anymore but allot of curly girls have been liking them.

Idk cause moitures Jamaican blk castor oil leave in grew my hair like crazy , then it started giving me a rash so I had to stop , each to their own tho
