Used that exact mower for 2 seasons and I loved it. Way easier on my body and felt more premium. Also agree with the safety factor in case of having to bail. I almost fell down a cliff once. I also would get low and ski on that biatch down hills under branches. Awesome video.

I’m trying to make the transition to stand on mowers. I’m going to have to go with a Bradley 36&52. Simply because I can get both for about the same price as one Toro unit. Excellent video Naylor! I would add as a disclaimer that you will NOT use it as a walk behind mower except for possibly loading/unloading it and really random and infrequent scenarios (I have jumped off and it helped before when I was starting to get stuck). There is just no room for your legs to take their full stride, so you end up doing these weird little half shuffle steps that are uncomfortable and impractical. So don't think you can use it the exact same way as a walk behind mower, because the ergonomics just don't allow it.

New subscriber to your channel. Something I am thinking about doing with my wright 36" stander is attaching a battery powered hanheld blower to it. Kinda like a holster, it will be close to the operator and pointing straight down. When the operator needs to blow something he will remove it from the holster and blow. This way he doesn't have to return to the truck to get a blower. I hope this helps out the landscape community. I agree with your video standers are better.

Great video. Never thought about using a backpack blower while on the stander. One thing I like about a stander is if I get in soft turf I can get off (losing 200lbs of weight) on the mower and carefully push it through, to not rip up the muddy grass. One thing you should of done...found a hot chick to demonstrate how to "go all the way down" 👍

I was wondering if they worked better than zero turns, my zero turn tears up the grass alot especially if the ground is wet at all. LCR, do you have a bagger for any of your stand on's? I've been using a Gravely ProStance I bought new two years ago, and love it, but am looking for a bagger now like that Accelerator or the steel version from Rack 'Em, but just found out Gravely actually makes an OEM for the ProStance. Do you have recommendations or don't you bag?

I never wanted or would look into trying one, but it makes getting on and off the machine much faster and maybe less fatigue. Any thoughts on standing above the engine? Do you ever get sick from having exhaust fumes in front of you and not in back like a more traditional ztr? My only concern is having the engine heat and exhaust in front instead of in the back .

@scotttyger4856
@scotttyger4856 5 жыл бұрын
The smallest yard I have is a city lawn, takes about 30 minutes, pays $40 cash. My biggest lawn is a funeral home and it's grounds, and just mowing 4 times a month pays $1240.00, and every other month I have a field that accompanies that property that pays $340 to brush hog it with a small Massey and a 5 ft. mower, which I get a kid to do for me for $8 an hour and takes 7 or 8 hours. MOST of my lawns pay between $60 and $90 and take an hour, to an hour and a half. To answer your NEXT question, I'm going to agree with you on the smaller lawns. If you can get 30 minute lawns for $30 or $40 dollars, and they're in town where you can nail down 3 or 4 of them in close proximity to each other. I personally service a very rural area of western Pennsylvania, and aside from a small college town, most of my lawns are scattered throughout the region. Still, I make what I refer to as loops, getting 3 or 4 lawns a day in a 20 mile loop, the next day a different loop with another 3 or 4 lawns, then a 3rd and a 4th loop, and so on. For this area, the hills and slopes and uneven terrain of western PA, a stander is perfect, and the size of my lawns makes the 52" a perfectly sized version. I personally would probably advise AGAINST a stander if you're doing half hour yards with a 30" commercial push mower in town based solely on an ACCESS standpoint! Can you get a stander IN to your lawns, including the back yards? And then, what's the reason you WANT a stander? My own reasoning is traction, stability on slopes and it's cut down DRASTICALLY on trimming because I can SEE to maneuver it closer to things I used to have to weed-eat. And it makes awesome stripes. Why are YOU considering it?

We only use stand on mowers for a lot of reasons. Like you said you can see better easier to get on and off of them. But my main reason I just feel so lazy sitting on my lazy ass. And then there is the body weight issue. The girls are 5ft6 and they weigh 110 pounds. I am 6ft2 200 pounds. I see so many overweight people sitting on that zero turn mower 5ft6 or so and they look so overweight. I know im going to hear it but its a thing called heart attack yup fat on that body. People can laugh about it but its a serious issue. If they dont want to lose the weight for themselves think about there kids there going to leave behind. Its kinda like smoking hell with there kids why not give them cancer too. I have even seen mostly guys chew tobacco and saw a guy after years of doing that then he lost his lower lip. You have to love seeing his face with no lip? Someday people just might think about there health but maybe not.

What are the cons..... I have been doing research on this and fount that price is very high and maintenance cost ( Transmission) is triple compare to walk behind...what are your thoughts on this
@LawnCareRookie

I have almost 1,000 hours and only changed a deck belt. Yes, walk behinds have less maintenance and cheaper parts... But they also are not as productive. Only in certain situations. It's all in how well you use and take care of your equipment and dealer support.

I'm not sure about a stand on I just bought a grandstand for $550 yesterday and spent 2 hours today learning how to operate it and so far I hate it but we'll see with more practice.

6 ft Valid point. Some brands stand between the wheels instead of over, which makes your lower.

Working on a stand on is a nightmare. Everything is so compacted into a tight space. The area behind the motor is tight to get to.

To me it doesn't justify spending all that extra money. Ok, you can tote it around on a trailer better. You not cutting grass on a trailer. You cutting grass on a lawn. So once you put the platform down to stand on, you not saving much space in comparison to your conventional zero turn. The weed wacker will do the rest. Hell the deck doesn't change. It's the widest thing on the mower. Same size as the deck on a seated zero turn. As far as jumping off and on, yeah that is a nice convenience. But realistically, how many times are you actually jumping off your seated zero turn??? Lol, dude talking about if he needs to jump off. Dude what yards you cutting where you need to jump off of that thing?? Lol. Yards with 2ft pot holes in them?? Lol. I turn down yards I have to cut that have all kinds of debris, sticks etc. And if a yard has a couple of sticks or whatever, I usually walk the yard first anyway before I even start. It cost you a little time. No money! Now if you are a lawn business that have 4 men on a truck and need to squeeze two zero turn mowers on a trailer or a truck. Now I get you buying stand on mowers. That make sense. I'm in Louisiana and all the box truck lawn service companies I see rolling around with seated mowers. Maybe it's more favorable in other states. All that other mumbo jumbo talk is you just justifying your preference of purchase. Selling salt to a snail. I still enjoyed the video though👍
