Clay Hensley the 36s don’t hold hills as well as the 48 or 52 due to the smaller tires and weight distribution.

I use a stander at work. 48 in grandstand. Its. Awesome and takes hills and slopes like a beast. No back pain from bumps either. If you are tall it could be an issue unless you have super long arms

Wright stander will def be my next upgrade. I currently have a Husqvarna zero turn. I love the convenience and operator friendly aspect of a stander. To me, Wright is the attractive choice at this point. Nice video👍

I had a 36 I and loved it I was waiting for my exmark pioneer to breakdown and it did now I have a 48 I and I almost bought bought the zk but I do mostly residential don't really need a zk but I love wright mowers just got to work your hand and wrist muscle

The advantage of this mower is its ability to change directions in a very tight space unlike a standard zero turn or rider.

I have a zero turn rider. I don't have to get off to pick up trash, branches or anything. I use a reach tool that folds and fits the 5 gallon plastic pail for trash that sits on my deck (with a branch trimmer also) in front of me. If the angle is too much I mow up the hills, not sideways to them. If I need to drag a branch because it too big to haul I can steer with one hand and my backrest will keep me in place while pulling with my free hand. Try that with a stand on mower. Try putting a trailer hitch on a stander to pull anything around. I'll keep using my CHEAPER zero turn rider mowers as they have far more positive advantages and not just a better ride for someone's bad back and slightly better side slope mowing.

The 52 inch wright home model is a nice mower at 5200. Only thing different then the super is the deck is 8 ga smaller tires and one gas tank. Cuts like a beast.

I have a 54" John Deere stander, and 2 sit on zero turns, all commercial. I definitely prefer the stander for mowing. The sit ons are good for attachments like leaf vacuums, and sprayers though.

I run the wright 72 dually I love it I take care of the state highways I'll buy the freeway and they go up some gnarly gnarly hills and nothing will stop it and it has saved me about a total of an hour and a half so I can get the whole thing done in 8 hours compared to about nine and a half ten I love stand-on mowers when you go stand on you never want to go back

I would agree with him about the stander. I bought my first stander this year and it’s a quickcat. I love it. Cut my time by 1/3 easily if not more. I agree it can climb things I never could before. I would never buy another ztr. Next year I’m getting a 36” to replace my 36” stander

the wright stander is amazing. super quick and easy deck height adjustment. saving my back by standing the whole time ready for action. easy to maintain and work on. goes absolutely anywhere. one downside is the grass capacity. even with a huge aluminum catcher it still doesnt hold half as much grass as a walker ride on.

I've got the 36" John Deere stander, it's nice being able to fit through almost any gate, but I do regret not going with the 48" when I'm on bigger properties.

I guess it's a catch 22, I've kinda decided to take on properties that I can do with the equipment I have and wait until my bussiness grows enough to be able to afford a bigger mower rather than waste time trying to cut big properties with a 36".

The Deere stand on is actually a Wright mower painted green. Literally when the patents were about to expire with Wright they partnered with Deere and made their stand on units.

Just had this mower as a demo yesterday. It was a 52 with tweels. The machine was great but I didn’t like the tweels they bite at the hills.

Wright has a Sport I that looks like a stand-on with a spring-loaded seat. I wish someone would do a demo on that other than their channel. (I currently have a zero-turn myself.)

Lean into that pad Jason!!! I thought you were gonna fall off the back! 😅😅😅 I bought Exmark Vantage back in the day and sold it with 150 hours on it or so. It was the funnest mower I ever had...but I like money making mowers! You hardly see any standers in our area at all. I think it's just too hilly... Thanks for the great video!

Good advice. I certainly need a few tips on riding the stand on mowers. A lot of people are buying standers here but it is not quite as hilly as your area

Had two Wright's you keep them thanks Try toro have used for 19 years no problems nicer cutting better to stand on my guys always left yellow machines took Toro bigger tires more comfortable easier to work on and service so try one out been doing this 20 years Toro is the only way to go

Jason if you remember earlier this spring when you being the awesome guy that you are and carrying me on the ride along. We talked about my toro grandstand stand-on. I agree 100% with Tim about the easy off and on for picking up debris opening gates. I only wish I’d bought one in the beginning of my business.

That is very similar to the m series Deere. Gas tank , battery case, deck adjust and brake are all opposite to mine. One piece knee pad, spring loaded base, and of course green paint. Good job buzzing across yard. Thought it was going to leave your grasp! Lol! Good content though Jason. Thank you Randy

My bad guys, didnt know they made a zero turn. Now theres pros and cons to everything. Some like riders because of knees, some like standers because of bad backs. I just like em i dont really have bad knees or back. 5 gallon buckets are now an option for the walker..ill be getting one. I just like staying in a standing position as opposed to riding. Thanks for the comment/compliments/corrections. And im from pinson al to answer the location question.

Wright also makes riders, your friend was incorrect. Wright is for me, they have a shorter length, so you can fit more on a trailer. They deliberately manufacture these machines to have less moving parts, so less chance for breakdowns. I saw the owner Ed Wright ride over an electric mower with one of standers. It was a great video.

i still prefer to sit when i can, i'm upright plenty when i trim, blow off, and when i run a walkbehind or pushmower. and i'm agile enough to get on and off in no time.

We bought a new Scag ztr last year and regret not going with a stander. We are probably picking up a stander next year though. Love Scag but those Wright’s and Ferris seem to be great machines. Will def try them all at the GIE.

The only reason I bought my Deere was because they were local, and the local service paid off last week when mine went down in a back yard. Thankfully they were still at the shop and they came out and helped me get the mower out of the yard and on their trailer to go to the shop. Lot to be said in buying local. Good luck

Trouble with Write is their cheapest mower is a $10,000 WALK BEHIND and their standards start at $14k now not 7k like few years ago. Looking at Bradley currently since my Ferris 48 hydrowalk DD needs to be demoted to backup

Hey Jason... I know this is an older video, but relevant for me. I just bought a Wright Stander X. This is my first stander. For some reason, the right and left forward controls seems backward vs my zero turn ride-on. Just something to get used to, I'm sure. These things have a load of power and stop on a dime. At full throttle, nearly went over the front end when I stopped to quick lol. We'll see how it goes. You looked just as I do learning to use this thing. Appreciate your videos👍

so how do these handle hills compared to sit down zero mowers??? don't they sell lower end stand ups... i am thinking of starting a small lawn care maybe 20 to 25 yards per week max...thax

I noticed that when you lower the deck, the engine also lowers. That must be what gives it a low center of gravity to handle hills so well. I suspect that system would also work on a rider.

Downside, however, of the smaller 36" standers are the limits the overall performance and cut in the 36" size. If you do get a stander don't spend money on a Wright since their since their design can now be duplicated and is being done so by Ferris. Note that Toro and Gravely have both been not recommended based on their different design--by a Toro/Ferris dealer nonetheless. Yes you can get a 36 through a narrow gate but at this size the mower is too big for blade size and this negatively affects quality of cut. Also, because of smaller size using a metal side bagger on 36 inch mower will make the cut uneven when the bagger can get exceptionally heavy and thus cause tilt. Review lawn site forum for this.

Always fancied a Wright's stander so I demoed one. Unfortunately the one I demoed (32")had a fixed deck and I was not able to raise when needed so it was getting stuck in the graveyard .Very disappointing so it's put me off.

Do the wheels on these have a limited slip type axle or is it more like a locker and the two wheels move at the same speed at all time? It seems like an open differential but with everyone saying how good of traction they get, I’m just curious. I have never used a stand on mower. Those things are like a Jeep with their short wheelbase.

No axles on zero turn mowers. Each wheel has a hydro drive motor.

There great mowers but if you have Bach problems and sciatic forget about them they will get worse I had one and I had to sell it and I had to go back to rider which sucked cause I loved that mower.

I don't get it why would anyone prefur a lawn mower like that to a ride on zero turn .. I cut a 4 acres property and I wouldn't want to be standing in the bumps and holding on the the bars.. Why..?

I used Wright Standers in a commercial setting-we would strap a 5gal bucket to them (I believe it is a factory option now lol)...incredible machines-as your guest said-they handle almost any incline. If I am able to grow my residential business to the point I need a ride on-Hands down-will be a Wright Stander...Moving debris out of the way is not dealing with it immediately-it seems a waste to push it and then go back for it later OR worse-leave it when with the Stander you either pick it or get off and grab it and jump right back on. Decent stripers also.

i'm a rider guy, too, but i use a plastic bag and grab stick ( hate using a mower with anything sitting between my feet, especially when it's time to mow a hill ); don't even have to get off the mower, unless the object is too heavy for the grabber claw, and even then, it's nothing to jump out of the seat, and right back on.

I'm sure a stand on is nice I also know a stand on is damn expensive Also the most expensive to repair The engine is inside this thing Yes a stand on is great Would you ever want to work on one or have it repaired ?? I do not think so !
